1. CB/FS Patrick Peterson, LSU — 6'1" 222
Keeping the dream alive. He could play any position in the secondary with success.

2. OG/RT Marcus Cannon, TCU — 6’6" 350
Cannon is massive and has manned the left side well for TCU. No doubt he could play RT or G in the NFL, versatility is always a plus.

3. OG/C John Moffitt, Wisconson — 6'4" 322
Another lineman with versatility and a bit of a mauler. Can play any interior line position, so he can easily find a spot on the active roster.

4. NT/DE Kenrick Ellis, Hampton — 6’5'' 340
Massive NT that allows us to move Ratliff to DE. Played against lesser competition but was a man amongst boys.

5. ILB Casey Matthews, Oregon — 6'2" 238
Would love for him to be an inch taller and 5 lbs heavier but he's got great instincts, a great motor and not bad in coverage.

6. FS Mark LeGree, Appalachian State — 6'0" 200
Playmaker in the secondary. I'm not ready to give up on AOA, but LeGree might have something.

7. RB Allen Bradford, USC — 5'11" 235
Our new power/short yardage back. Compact power runner with lots of upside.

Some will dislike moving Ratliff out of NT but my logic is this. If we would be happy with Fairley's disruptiveness at DE, then why not Ratliff? It wouldn't mean he would never line up at NT again either. Versatility is a good thing.

I had to get my pets in there anyway, Kenrick and Casey are two guys I'm really hoping we roll the dice on. Looking forward to seeing them work out.

I like it.

We have 2 7th rounders, correct?

Maybe throw in a small school WR or FB?

If it's meat and potatoes, I guess it should be a FB. :D

As far as I know, we have 1. We got the 7th for Crayton, but we used our 7th this year to get Brent last year in the supplemental. I could be wrong though.

I feel like this is pretty much cheating.

Id rather a kicker in the 7th b/c theres no difference between Bradford, Armando Allen, Taua etc. But once a starting kicker is a FA they might not want to sign w/ a team who may or may not have a kicker

Anyone else read where LeGree wasnt invited to the combine. Stupid, I always want to get a close look at the small school guys. Even in that context

Does Casey rush the passer?

He does, and he's marginally effective. 3 sacks this year and 3 sacks last year. A few times though, they are pretty much timing sacks and he goes untouched. He gets pressure but honestly not sure how he'd hold up trying to shed blocks.

As far as the kicker, I don't know why, but I'm willing to ride it out with Buehler. Don't ask me why because I don't have an answer.

no, you're correct. i had a brain fart.

will Peterson be there? I could see the Titans taking him one spot ahead of us: that would suck obviously.

If we come away with this draft i'd be the happiest guy on the planet for at least a week haha.

I'm all in on this one count. Peterson wont happen, but it would be great if it did.

The only change is I would draft Alex Henery sometime in the second day.

No, really, I would.

For whatever reason, I just don't feel the team is going to give up on Buehler. I personally would prefer not to spend another draft pick on a kicker, as history has shown they are all awful and a complete waste of time. :laugh2:

I don't know if he will be, chances aren't good unless Prince blows up the combine. I think the Titans are going to be looking at QB in the first now, especially with their spot being so high. They may however, go after a vet like McNabb, which would suck for our chances of landing Peterson.

I like it too.

I also agree that Ratliff could be moved to DE and it may be best for the team. I say this because we need some new blood at several different positions (OG, OT, FS, SS, CB, MLB, DE). You can't find starters for all of those spots in the draft. If Brent can handle NT it would free up Ratliff for DE. I also am assuming that Spencer bounces back or the Butler/Williams combo can help at OLB. We need Lee to come through at MLB, but we need someone else to back up there.

I am also not so high on drafting a kicker. I have convinced myself or maybe others have convinced me that kickers take a few years to develop in most cases. I don't think I could handle another rookie kicker right now. Either we get some improvement from Buehler or we get a vet.

I also wish that we could have seen what we had in Young in the last couple games to see where he was at in his development. We may have a better idea of the tackle draft priority.

I guess now that we know Luck isn't coming out, the idea of Peterson coming to us are all but Nil, if they weren't already.

I'd substitute Prince in there and still be happy with this draft, especially since he may be the last "elite" prospect available to us.

A trade down to select one of the top linemen in the 1st would be great too, but I usually keep trades out of my mocks since they are so unpredictable.
