1. Kenny Vaccaro, FS, Texas
Maybe it's the contrarian in me, but the more I see some hunt for reasons to dislike Vaccaro, the more he's growing on me.We've also got an owner that not only blatantly stated, but has a long history to backup, his dislike for spending high resources on the offensive line which makes me doubt we'd take the excellent Cooper or Warmack even if they were there.

2. Sio Moore, OLB, Connecticut
Moore is definitely a little undersized to play the SAM, but if Kiffin holds true to form, he'll favor range and speed to size anyway. Moore showed he's got the strength to play the position by doing 29 reps.

3. Alvin Bailey, OG, Arkansas
Bailey showed a lot of athleticism at the combine and has a lot of experience playing on the move in Arkansas' defense. He's played both left and right guard as well, so the versatility is a big plus.

4. Khaled Holmes, C, Southern California
No way, no how should we be relying on Phil Costa staying healthy and being the sole answer at center for this team.

5. Kyle Juszczyk, FB, Harvard
More of a H-Back, than a pure FB but has the right measureables to be a full-time FB while giving us another weapon and some flexibility as he led Harvard with 53 catches and 700+ yards. Has also proven he can be that lead blocker out of the backfield.

6. David Bass, DE, Missouri Western State
A lot of upside with this kid, put on quite a workout and has been very productive. I think he'd be more of a backup/special teams guy for a little bit as he gets up to speed, but could contribute on D given time.

----

What I like about this mock:

Lots of potential to get immediate impact players and starters/eventual starters. Vacarro, Moore, Bailey and Juszczyk should all be instant starters. Holmes could contribute if Costa gets in trouble, and gives us some versatility as a backup guard immediately.

Bass has upside, but I wouldn't bank his being a starter anytime soon. More of a depth guy with some potential.

What I don't like:

We'd be relying on Crawford to step up and hold down that strong side DE spot, which I think he can actually play.

Moore surprised me with his strength, but he's still a bit small to play SAM in my opinion.

Vacarro is a very good athlete, but the 40 time will probably worry some. He's not Earl Thomas, and I think Earl is the key to the entire Seahawks secondary.

To come out of a deep OL/DL draft without spending one of the first two picks on either makes me kind of feel like we'd have missed out on a great opportunity.

Love picks 1, 3, and 6.

I think taking a LB in round 2 is a bit rich.. We still need to see what Albright and Wilbur can do..

As for the Khaled Holmes pick I like the player but I think that either Costa or Bernardeau is gonna get that C spot I really don't see us going for one in this draft..

The FB pick is the one I have the biggest problem with.. Kid could probably be our 3rd TE and our starting FB but I Vickers will be here and Ide much rather try and grab someone with possible upside than a FB in the 5th round.. There are plenty of good FB's that will be around as undrafted free agents.

Already gone on record saying they fully expect him to be on the team next year.

32 years old, injury prone, on the decline, bad attitude and over paid. Yep that is who I want to depend on as a key to the D Line

It's not what we want, it's what is going to happen. There's a difference.

Nicely said Robert, I agree. I feel like the Rat got the short shaft on his second deal and we are still trying to make him feel better for taking advantage of him. Just my opinion he should get no slack or special consideration if Jason G wants to hold on to his job.

Wow. Reading this was kind of a kick in the gut.

Perhaps the most simplistic, widely applicable, and fitting statement I've read on this board in a while.

You could apply this to a number of topics, both current or from the past.

The whole situation has me jaded. I wish he was gone and we could bring in someone new. I was reading some stuff that said Hatcher is more of a 1-technique, but I don't know how reputable it was. I've always thought he would do better in a 3, I like what Bob Sturm said.

Take the best 300+ pound guy available.

I don't like this draft at all. Vaccarro is the only guy who would be an expensive free agent to acquire. It does a good job of plugging immediate holes, but maybe two long term difference makers and at relatively cheap positions.

I wouldn't take an OLB in the 2nd either, but we nearly did it last year when we didn't even need a 3rd ILB really. Now that we're actually in need of LB's? I don't think it's out of the question.

The FB pick was a utility pick. Looking at who might be available there, I didn't see a lot of guys that would get much burn anytime soon. Especially since the team tends to distrust rookies and young guys in general. Usually, our first round pick is the only one that sees the field immediately - and sometimes that doesn't even happen.

Yeah, if Ratliff is staying and we're paying him as much as we are, they he's gotta be the 3. However, I did say not coming out of the draft with some DL talent early was one thing I disliked about the mock. I haven't been happy with Ratliff for a couple of years now, last year was just the last straw.

I think it was a nice effort, but I certainly wouldn't want to spend 1st rounder on Vaccaro unless we were able to trade down for him. Its almost a definite that either Cooper, Warmack, Richardson, or Star will drop to us. 1 of them definitely will

I would rather see if JJ Wilcox or Jonathan Cyprien slip to us in the 2nd or 3rd better value, and some scouts like even better then Vaccaro.

I watched the Oklahoma State tape on Vaccaro and came away less then impressed. Got burned by receiver in the slot for TD

I like the players; however, I would be disappointed with this draft.

1. Kenny Vaccaro, FS, Texas

He is just not that special of a player, IMO. There will be some good options in the 2nd that could easily end up being better players.

2. Sio Moore, OLB, Connecticut
I really like this player; however, the 2nd round seems early. If the Cowboys take a LB in the 2nd, he needs to be a player that is by far the BPA.

Size should not be a problem. There have been many SLBs in this defense that were smaller.

3. Alvin Bailey, OG, Arkansas
I like this player. He has a good combination of power and quickness. His biggest issue is that he is on the ground to often.

4. Khaled Holmes, C, Southern California
This would be a steal. IMO, Holmes is as good as any of the Centers in this draft. It is unfortunate that he injured himself while lifting at the combine. He is the far extreme from Costa in term of arm length (35").

5. Kyle Juszczyk, FB, Harvard
OK, I guess. I just have a feeling that some high upside players are going to fall to this area of the draft.

6. David Bass, DE, Missouri Western State
Definitely worth a 6th round pick.
