Joe pretty much dead on. It's nice to have skins fans pinned and boxed in. :)

He says Ware, Merriman and Peppers are "the three defensive forces in football."

What did Merriman do yesterday to get the comment from Madden that he was one of the most dominant players right now. He had 1 asst and 0 sacks and 0 tackles.

He did get 1 int. Was it special?

The Merriman INT was him in zone and Walter just throwing it into his chest under pressure.

Nothing special, but at least he caught it.

Give both Ware and Merriman their due. Both excellent players, even though they play tow different roles.

Didn't he have three sacks in Week 1? I think that merits the mention on its own, regardless of what he did last week.

Merriman had an unstoppable look all night against the Raiders on MNF, caught doubles all night and looked like Reggie White in his prime.

It helps to watch the sport occasionally.

I saw the one game - that was against the Raiders - I did not know one perf. against a weak team made you the most dominant defensive player. I wanted to know if he followed it up with a similar performance and I saw the stat line and only saw the 1 Int.

Was he in the QB's face all day long and it did not show on the stat line.

Some of us don't watch every game.

I think Merriman gets the hype because, besides being a talented player, he gets noticed for his intimidating style of play. Ware can be every bit as successful but Merriman will just look better.

As for the Raiders, ay caramba~! that team sucks big time!!! Ware would've had a career day against them too.

There is some truth in that.

What I remember of Bob Lilly - he wasn't one of those crazed, fire-breathing DLs. He wasn't flashy, but he was great. He made plays that most DLs couldn't make. Maybe Ware will turn out to be like that....
