Then and Now (Bledsoe)

I have been remembering back to when we aquired Bledsoe. I remember a lot of Buffalo Bills fans laughing and telling us he is washed up and what not.

It seems we were happy because it was an upgrade, plus he was reuniting with previous teamates and coaches.

I went back on to see exactly what people were saying so I will give you links and excerpts(I guess we dont cache our forums that long?). I only got two forums because thos two were really the only two with quality discussion(more than one or two comments or discussing free agents in general with no discussion pertaining to expectations of Bledsoe)

If given time, he can be successful. A full year with JJ in the backfield, KJ running routes, Witten underneath. It looks promising... anyone think Drew will start out on fire in Dallas the way he did in Buffalo? me neither

I'm glad he ended up in Dallas, it could be a real soap opera down there....Parcells job must be tied to Bledsoe at this point, after dispatching 3 starting QBs already....watch Ol' Bill have a vintage meltdown on the sideline at some point as Bledsoe gets rattled by blitzes

This is one Buffalo fan post I thought was interesting because of Bledsoe's initial strong start before the second half of last year.

Anyway if anyone else could find some old posts about the signing of Bledsoe post them. It seems many on here have reached the consensus that Buffalo had before getting rid of Bledsoe.

It took them 10 years, but damn did those Bills ever get the city of Dallas back.

Whoa...slow down there Jimmy. There have been more than a few who were not all that happy about Bledsoe on board.

But yes, you are correct just because he is in Dallas now some went from Statue jokes to when is his HOF speech overnight.

I didn't know much at all about Bledsoe. I heard the complaints and what not, but I had never seen it. What I DID know, and still know, is that it was an upgrade over Vinny.

Unfortunately, I see now that the warnings are true- it isn't enough of an upgrade. I still see the logic in our move, but I also see the logic in Buffalo's move. They may not be good, but they got rid of the dead weight that is Bledsoe and are trying to create better parts.

This board has moved and lost some of it's archives since we signed Bledsoe but if you want to no the three guys that bashed the Bledsoe signing until we turned blue in the face.
