What are y'all's theories on what we do at 1-tech? We literally have none on the roster right now as Antwaun Woods is a RFA, doing nothing isn't really an option lol

I'll let you know after Antwaun Woods weigh-in some time this off-season.

Ohhh plus if I was McClay I'd target every Lineman with a Vegan based diet

Kinda ticked another off-season is going by where they arent investing in the DT/NT McCoy is a bridge guy.. however we don't have another player on the other side of that bridge. It really just blows my mind. Its literally the most important part of a defense in my opinion. in my opinion, its the only position that can dictate a play every play. (On Defense that is)

SeanLee is saying we will play 3T's at 1T as his theory.

You do know Woods played the 1 last year? Covington and Hill played the 1 when Woods was out

“Woods, 26, could make a timely return this week, though. Reserve defensive lineman Chris Covington has been starting in his place at the 1-Tech spot, with rookie Trysten Hill also getting snaps. The 6-7 Cowboys need a boost if they're to build on their first-place status in the NFC East. Woods' ability to get healthy - and to put his bad news aside - could be part of that boost.”

“Starting 1-tech Antwaun Woods left the game in the middle of the fourth quarter. Following a play with Washington in Dallas territority, Woods was seen writhing in pain on the ground, holding his knee.”

Hill and Covington aren't 1T's. Sorry to break it to you.

Woods will start at 1 tech.

They likely bring a guy back like Covington.

Hill will get some reps there as well.

I think Woods starts but they upgrade from Covington. He didn't do much and one of the FAs will take a pillow contract to come here for one year.

Yep. The previous regime understood his play as well as you and SeanLee50 do

“For a relatively low-risk signing, a pick like [Trysten Hill] directly impacts guys like Christian Covington. Covington plays both 1T and 3T, but he does have the price tag of a future pick on his head. Right now, Dallas isn’t going to get a comp pick in 2020, but that changes if one of the free agents signed doesn’t make it through Week 10. Covington is in that formula.”

We can argue more about a guy not even on the roster about a position he played. I was just simply stating that’s the likely road. Woods, Covington or a guy like him and trying to get anything out of Hill. That’s cool though

Isn't the purpose of a bridge to fill the gap between not having a long term answer and finding the long term answer? Accordingly, why would we expect to have the long term answer now rather than have the "bridge" serve it's purpose?

Not that I view McCoy that way. I think he will be a big upgrade, and though he doesn't have the years ahead of him a younger man would, he isn't just filling a gap. He is on the team to have an impact.
