Theory on Romo's back

I know that plenty are suspecting a big cyst cover up but I think I have a much more sound theory.

Tony did have a cyst removed.

Then he hurt his ribs. We all saw that he had less zip and we threw short way more than normal. He got the zip back for a couple of games but took a big hit and started having some accuracy issues.

I am thinking he had a compensation injury from the ribs that caused some back issues and the grab and torque against Washington finally made the thing herniate.

If that is the case hopefully the surgery fixed it and he won't have problems going forward.

I think the cyst removal was more than what met the eyes.

With the three injuries and to play the way he did really says something as Romo as a QB.

Maybe his finest work. Now if we could get the rest of these bums outside of Tyron, Fred, and a few others to raise there game we will be ok.

I have had two cysts removed. They are similar to boils but can't pop because the are in a sack so they have to cut them open to empty them. Because they have to cut them out you have a open wound which takes a couple of weeks to heal. It seemed to take much longer for Romo to be able to play after the procedure which makes it suspicious. Anyone remember how long he was out?

Romo got hurt in the last game of the season against Washington last year and I think it never got better in the offseason. Rich Dalyrmple came up with that BS about a cyst removal story. I'm so sick of that orginazation trying to cover up injuries. Jerry came out on Tuesday and said There was nothing structurally wrong with Romo's back and now a few days later he has to have surgery. Then Garrett says we're not getting into the details of what the injury was. Tony has been hurting all season and you can see the lack of velocity in his throws.

I still think it was a Pilonidal cyst earlier and wonder if it was correlated with the herniation. I read somewhere once that the cyst could possibly cause a herniation from the area and direction of the cyst. I don't know if this is accurate or not.

Matter of fact, I don't think it is correlated.

Another theory: Back injuries are among the most common golf related injuries. The golf swing rotation puts tremendous stress on the back. Perhaps it's time Tony hangs up the golf clubs.

Sounds reasonable.
There will be many theories out there. I been saying all year he has not looked right, except a few games here and there. I thought because there was more to the cyst surgery than they let on, but this makes a lot of sense too. Guess in the end, it doesn't matter now, just ready for Tony to be healthy for next year. Doesn't matter how the team spins it one way or the other, it's in the past.

But first we have an Eagles team to whip up on, and make the playoffs.

most of that is wishful thinking. More likely Romo had bad back before season started and that would explain the ridiculous recovery period for cyst removal. That would also explain why Romo was going out of his way this season to avoids hits and was throwing off his back foot more often. Regardless of how and why...the reality is that Dallas now has gargantuan contract on books for 34 year old QB coming off back surgery. This is on heels of another ridiculous situation in which player refused to play for owner (ratliff) and a league penalty for contract terms (austin contract). Its virtually impossible to be anything more than mediocre team with all of that going on.

He missed OTA's and a Mini Camp which were within 6 weeks of the surgery.

Right, I'm not sure, but didn't he have it removed right before, or during OTA's, then when mini camp started, it was still too close to take any chances. I think they said he could participate but held him out for precautionary reasons.
