Anyone who thinks someone like Bill Cowher is going to come in here and wave a magic wand to fix it all is kidding themselves.
This isn't the first time we've been embarrased in a game like this. It happened last year. It happened the year before against Detroit at the end of the season. It happened in 2005 in the 35-7 loss to Washington. Different coaches, same core players. They aren't winners. They are happy to cash their check and walk home with a smile, win or lose. You can see it when you hear our supposed "leader" Tony Romo make excuses for his poor play. Or when Ken Hamlin is shown laughing on the sidelines while Philly is blowing us out. These guys don't know how to win and they don't seem to care to try to learn.
The problem starts at the top with Jerry Jones, because he's the man who orchestrated this entire thing. He brought these guys in. He has fostered a culture of losing and players who just don't give a crap by bringing in malcontents like Pacman Jones and Tank Johnson and coddling to whiners like Greg Ellis and T.O.
He's not a football guy and he'll never be a football guy. He doesn't know what it takes win a championship. He knows how to hire a guy who knows what it takes to win a championship, but he doesn't actually know how to build that championship team.
Remember the Rams game? When Steven Jackson said afterward that they thought if you hit the Cowboys hard early they will wilt and crawl into their shell? That's exactly what happened in that game. That's exactly what happened tonight. That's exactly what will happen next year at the first sign of adversity. This is an organization that has grown to accept losing and we can thank Jerry Jones for that.
Oh well, who cares, as long as the new stadium is sold out, right?
