There is a storm coming boys!

He looks IIke a pretty good blitzer like Smith was.

Wonder if Sir Rod will loosen up his blitzes this year?

BARRING INJURY,HE WILL BE. You don't draft a guy that high to use him as a back up. IMO..you draft elite players in round 1.If not,its a failure.

I mean yea kinda.... Would you say the same thing if you were a team drafting a QB in round one? What's the difference? MLB is the quarterback of the defense. I hate that type of thinking. The best way for any player to succeed is to let him learn a year under a capable veteran and then Take over... Taco was horrific last year. He was thrown on to the field because of this type of logic. Same with Byron Jones. Both of these guys had NO reason to be starting other than there weren't a lot of ither options. We are in the same position at LB where there really isn't anyone else because we have one great LB and another one who's on one leg. LVE is gonna start but it's not the smartest move if you have other guys.

Yeah I was excited for Derwin but I really am happy to have LVE as well.

yes. This is a win now league, period. Its not the same as when we drafted Troy..yes we started him because he was drafted 1 overall..but we actually sat him for a while too. Now if that happens, the guy gets cut or traded, which almost happened to Troy. Look at Watson last year. The kid started a ton of games, then got hurt. Look at Kizer in Cleveland. They drafted him high, started him..now he's gone. May be out of the league in another year. The moral of the story is YES...for better or worse, when you draft a QB,more times than not, that player will start at some point in his rookie year. You see it every year. Maybe its not always fair or right, but that's reality. I expect my round 1 player to come in and start and be a difference maker day 1.
