But it doesn't do Dallas or any team any good if they know which ones they are pre-draft

Absolutely. The people proclaiming that this draft is weak for D have simply not done their homework. There are at least 8-10 D players who look as if they'll be very good. Off the top of my head, here's some guys who look like real players: Moehrig, Surtain, Farley, Parsons, Nixon, Rousseau, Koramoah, Zaven Collins

And there are several in later rounds. My mid round pet cat is Darius Stills at DT.

That’s my thought. I was hoping for a top 5 pick at the end of the season to solidify us being able to get him. Hopefully we have a shot still. especially on Quinn defense. I didn’t really hear about Quinn or anyone from the staff at parsons pro day. But that shouldn’t matter look at ceedee last year

That's because I'm just like everybody else. Nobody actually knows because of a lot of factors. Sometimes a player will be better because they have a chip on their shoulder from being overlooked. I think that Metcalf the receiver at Seatle is one of those players. Also some players bust or don't do as well because they were picked high and don't work as hard.

I'll guess Nick Bolton and Richie Grant. They could fall into that group with a chip on their shoulder. At least 1 of the corners will be and maybe more of them. A 1 technique cold also, could be 1 of several guys. Parsons might be.

Outside of Parsons, I see zero blue chip defensive prospects.

Blue chip meaning elite, top 5/7 ish type talents. IE...Bosa, P. Peterson, Suh, Kuechly, J. Adams types.

Good depth players on day 2 but crap year to be picking in the top 10 if you need a defender. The top of this draft is offense heavy.

I am not sure who is claiming there is no elite talent in this draft class, but I think it is obvious this is a weak draft class at certain positions. I don't see a Chase Young. Or even a Derrick Brown. I don't think the Safeties are elite either. There are a couple of offensive tackles, but isn't the consensus that they are not as good as the class of OTs that came out last year? I have no doubt this class will produce some all-pro players on both sides of the ball. There will be some hall of Famers too. But as you said, we just don't know who they are which to me is saying there are no elite players in this draft or we would know who they are.

Elite players come later in the draft a lot of the time.

That’s my thought as well. Parsons is the top guy. After that there’s an argument for most positions. Cb surtain can be argued with horn or Farley before the back surgery.

Surtain and Horn are solid 1st round CBs but lack the athleticism and twitch to be considered IMO. I don't even like the idea of either at 10.

If Farley didn't have the injury concerns he's close for me but I still wouldn't put him up there with someone like Okudah who came out recently.
