This is why a lot of us are lobbying for Bowman. We have been getting gashed by the run, right up the gut. This happens to be Bowman's strength. It's a no brainer, sign the man!

Sean Lee makes a big difference. He normally makes 3-4 plays a game that stall drives. Having him back should stop the bleeding in the run game.

That being said, we really need more quality depth at that position so we're not relying on Lee so much.

We knew there would be growing pains. And the D would / could, and now is struggling. I said before the season, if they could be what they were last year to start, or even a little worse. They may finish about the middle of the pack or slightly better, again. Bt as long as they are playing like a top. 12 by the end of the year, it would be good.

But now, I am not so sure. Can they turn it around and get better, sure, but right now I just can't see it. Unless they come out of the bye week with some changes. Like for one, get heath out of there. Hitchens more playing time over Smith.

Even Brady need some defense. Most of their wins have come with some serious defensive plays. We lack players who make plays.

Zeke and the running game is what made the defense good enough last year. The defense can't give up points when it's not on the field.

He would only improve the run defense. He was as much or more of a liability against the pass as Heath.

They have been working Woods and Frazier in more and more. They used Awuzie when he has been healthy. One of those 3 likely replaces Heath by the end of the season and will likely be better than Church by then.
