There is one thing I hope Jerry and Stephen understand

And it's that if Dak goes unsigned, there will be no revolt by the blind sheep that file into AT&T in lockstep. However, there are many of us that have been apathetic for 10 + years who ARE JUST WAITING FOR AN EXCUSE to pursue other interests and finally put this three decade S show in our rear view mirrors. Go ahead and sign him, and see what happens. I just found out over the weekend that we play Cleveland....there was a day when I'd already have the first six games on our schedule memorized.....home and away.

You’re a casual. Who cares? You not knowing who we play says enough to the fans around here who eat and sleep Cowboys football. Jerry doesn’t make his money off people like you. You have the games memorized, what’s that mean? Were you going to games or just looking at schedules? Why are you waiting? What’s stopping you? You think signing Dak or it signing Dak means anything is going to change?

After three decades of this same old crap if you haven’t found an excuse to jump ship, I got bad news for you . You are hooked and addicted. Or just a real Cowboy fan dedicated to the team and its history, legends and larger than life figures. The present owner and any current players are irrelevant. We were a fan way before they came along and will continue way after they’re gone.

So just buckle up for another roller coaster ride and remember to always keep your arms and legs in the cart.

You're not alone but you know you're gonna keep watching.
Whose going to be around to pick up the pieces when the Cowboys break my heart this season. I ask you all...who?????? Ok seriously, it's not solely the fault of our post season fibrillating team guided by inept executive management keeping us frustrated. It's also the damn greedy NFL diluting the sole viewership of long term fans devoted to their favorite team generating more revenue by allocating more games through contractual distribution with different channels or platforms. Then they end up increasingly fighting over more viewing market share resulting in blocking programming we expected to see on whatever given day.

It's like jumping into a barrel of teats and coming up sucking your thumb.

the question is that Dak was top 10 in jersey sales. if Dak is gone, who is going to fill the gap of all the jersey's that are unsold.

the three decade S show is going to continue until Jerry departs (not that I wish him that). not sure if his son is any better a he learned from the old senile person.

its all about maximizing profit. been saying this now for 10 years.

Try and follow me here.

If they don't re-sign Dak,
It maybe a sign Jerry has turned the page on old Jerry.

It is a reason for hope, IMO
If this were old Jerry, he'd have tripled down and extended Dak a year ago, dooming the franchise for another 5 years. He'd be still trying to find that ultimate weapon/offense for Dak to achieve playoff success.

Right now I see a new HC, and high pick QB coming, and I'd trade Parsons to make that happen.

Finally a brighter future than the past 20 years.
Somebody got into Jerry's ear last year and made a impression.
Thank God!

Lol. Yep. You nailed me. As frustrated as I get and as mad as I get sometimes and I vow to stop watching and caring. I can’t. I’m hooked and addicted. That’s just my reality. I was thinking today that I just have to accept that I’m always going to care and stop trying to fight it. The goal now is to not let it me so much and try to enjoy the roller coaster.

I agree. I’m hoping that’s the plan. Trade Parsons while he has major trade value and use that pick to get the next QB at the top of the draft. I think Parsons is going to grow more into a headache than a generational player as time goes on.

The problem is dak isn’t doing that. He was #20 in jersey sales last year and was #3 on his own team. Nearly anyone who plays qb for the cowboys probably matches that in jersey sales at very least, an early draft pick might instantly be #1 after getting the cowboy player bump. I do think the cowboys have a very real issue with how unpopular Dak is with cowboy fans right now and he’s not the most popular option.

Yeah, if this turns out to be a difficult season like I imagine, Parsons will be among the first to point fingers, and possibly ask for a trade.
Kind of sad because he was walking in front of us at the Charger game tossing hats to the kids in the stands.
At the same time he was standing right next to my 6'6" 330lb son and I was thinking "he'd beat my son off the edge a few times a game but if my son got his hands on him he'd drive him into oblivion". Lol

and that's the reason Jerry is considering moving on from him. he was top 10 for the couple of years before that.

I seriously doubt if anyone playing for the cowboys would match...how many Rush jersey's were sold last year? probably zero.

and my point was that, jerry is thinking that I am going to milk this as much as possible, then draft a QB and then go back up in jersey sales.

he makes money decisions to run the football team, not football decisions.

and Dak has become more unpopular than popular, although as you said he was #20 last year, so still popular. the ardent fans are probably not a Dak fan, but the casual fans, who are there for the experience don't are much and that's where Jerry focuses mostly to grow the pie.

There is no middle ground. If they sign Dak it's not other interests people will pursue. More people will hate the Cowboys and cheer against them. That's what I'm doing.
It's kinda fun not having a dog in the fight and cheering against every game Dak Prescott steps on that field. I'm excited for the playoffs if they make it.

This is the last chance for the Cowboys for me, and I'm not even sure it will matter if they do well this season.
Thirteen years of watching Jason Garrett be coddled by Jerry and then keeping Prescott (Garrett 2.0) for eight seasons has about finished me off as a fan.
Not to mention certain obvious things going on in the NFL that makes it look more like the WWF than a sports league. Watching Darrick Barnes whiff on purpose last season when he had Dak for a safety- instead the play turned into a 92 yard touchdown pass - that kept the crowd happy on Jimmy Johnson's Ring of Honor induction makes it look all too much like a rigged league.
So I am barely hanging to the hope that the Cowboys could return to being the franchise I once loved. But, just barely.

You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villian.. I was saying this thinking of Dak but Jerry too.

I was where you are a couple years ago. It's hard to let go of a team you grew up loving. Dak continually choking and poor play against good teams has ruined it. I agree on that BS whiff by Barnes. You really kind of wonder.
