They do. It’s like when the Texans were amped up to play their first ever game and beat Dallas.

Dallas went on to still suck that year, so maybe Dallas is just suck.

I understand that this week, we are going to be calling out the defence, and rightly so with how poor the defence was. Let's be fair and objective here. 1. A horrible defence isn't going to go from record breaking in a bad way to the Doomsday D in one game. That's unrealistic. I already litigated part of the issue from the game in a previous post, so I will not do so here. 2. That load of Ricard and Skatabo is going to be a problem for more teams than us. I'm curious how the Rams handle that, especially sans Myles Garrett.

However, there was ONE thing I noticed on our defence that I liked, and I don't think it's been highlighted by others yet. Consider it a tiny diamond in a whole load of rough, and my attempt at pulling something positive from last night. I noticed that we forced at least 3 fumbles and nearly had a pick or two (with one fumble being recovered). To me, those are decent building blocks. To me, I like that the players were trying to attack the ball. I'd love them to stuff the run in the backfield and focus on that, but, I don't think I saw them attacking the ball last season like I saw last night. I think on another game, more of those fumbles would go our way. I also thought we got a bit unlucky to not pick off the one where Nabers fell. I also thought we were incredibly unlucky with where the ball wound up after Downs clobbered Dart. That's one that, on another night, we probably intercept.

So, while there's rightfully a lot of negativity towards the way the defence looked, I do think they got a little unlucky with some of the bounces on the fumbles/loose balls, and I do want, as a fan, to encourage the team to keep attacking the ball. We don't need them to become the Doomsday D yet. We just need them to attack the ball and get in position to recover the ball when the ball pops loose. And I hope we send more blitzes with Downs. That hit on Dart was beautiful. We need to do that more.

Look I agree with that for the most part everyone needs to calm down there's always overreactions with teams i've seen teams start undefeated was it a couple years ago where the Saints look like they were going to the Super Bowl and then what happened yeah they collapsed Yeah they they didn't play well the rest of the season i've seen teams like us who started out 3 and 8 and fixed it this is not over there were 16 teams that all lost and some of them had high hopes and spent a lot of money on defense like the Rams and the Texans and they got their butts kicked..

I'm just saying I really believe Parker's gonna have to play around with the depth chart change out some players how their roles are and they're gonna he's gonna go game to game and figure out who's gonna best fit his system and he'll constantly make changes I think it's necessary there were dudes that it wasn't really just about communication they were confused about their assignments it was like Two News thought they were both supposed to do the same thing somebody was wrong we don't know who was wrong he does.

He will breakdown film and I believe he will make changes and the Cowboys will get better each week on defense I don't think this is gonna be the last two years the season is not over 16 teams lost Like I said we've seen some teams that were supposed to be Super Bowl contenders not look good game one not at all do we need to talk about Sean Payton who makes $20 million a year not having his team prepared?

You wanna keep bringing it up they say that Jerry bargain shops for his head coach and that's why we lost that's why we weren't prepared well how about all the experienced coaches like VRabel Sean Payton, The Texans head coach he's also the defensive coordinator yeah much money they spent over there they didn't look good I mean the Rams Mcveigh how much money does he make? I mean they didn't look good they got dog walked just like us I don't think any of their fan bases are freaking out maybe they are but it's not over it was one loss that's it I really believe he will figure out how to utilize his roster each week he will make change because some dudes I watch that word 3rd string rotational guys deserve more time than some of the starters so that's how he'll start figuring this out...

Do not think Parker's the type of coach that is gonna play favorites if you didn't play well you better fix it or he will replace you We do have some pretty good depth and I'm betting over the next three or four weeks he's watching close on who's really giving the effort on who's got it figured out with their assignments and he will start demoting players not cutting them not sitting them on the bench but taking some of their reps away and giving it to players who really want to do it better.

If two fumbles go our way and we hold NY to 14 or 20...everyone is singing a different tune and praising Caleb Downs etc. That's why you don't overreact, save that for the pundits on Twitter X news, the experts. Giants gonna get smacked by the Rams this week, we handle Washington

There is no brightside here, because in Week 3, we face King Henry. How does 0-3 affect that brightside?

Tbf, having a 300lb fullback and Skatabo is kind of a cheat code lol. But I think Parker can build on the forced fumbles. A couple recoveries, and we may be talking about a different result.

Correct I remember my high school coach is telling me if you're gonna make a mistake do it at full speed do it with emotion if you're giving me effort we can fix the mechanics the technique as long as that's happening and I seen that happening that we're fine..

I mean they were hitting hard they were holding on to guys for dear life it was a physical group up there they were running right at us the blocking and the physicality on the road there was a lot of motions running while I did not see a lack of effort That's why I think it can be corrected because those balls will bounce our way in the coming games they just didn't bounce our way.

That is why I think it's correctable I could be wrong but let's talk about this around Game 6 maybe even game 8 if it's still happening then we have a worry we have a good reason to worry. We have a good reason to worry.

And that's where I think the attacking the ball will help. If nothing else, maybe the linebackers can knock the ball loose when the dline slows down the run. I loved seeing Quinnen punch out the ball. If they can do that more, I think our defence can at least get to average, which is what we need.

That guy's a hard guy to bring down He looks like Allstot out there. They were using the old Kellen M offensive guard as a fullback as well that's a lot of beef up in there they talked about it during the game, solid offensive line play and then you have a 320 pound guard leading the way for a big giant running back with speed and moves yes, that was a tough assignment, and that's why I know going forward there are not a lot of offenses that have guys like that in it that can do the same things and we will get them next time..

I mean the dude had a bloody nose I mean there was a lot of physicality up there for a game one and I think they're gonna be better for it I think there's a learning lesson they got all that rust knocked off for sure they may have got the rust knocked off a game early so that could be beneficial for the next game...


So yes they came up but I'm saying some dudes were getting turned sideways that shouldn't have been both 92 and 97 but when Ogbonnioa came in he deserves more snap than we see missing camp and the rookie did a pretty good job inside as well overton I believe his name is.

One thing I will say, a little off topic but I'm kinda curious. Why can't we have someone like an Elijah Garcia (DT on the PS) or Marcellus Johnson (OT on the PS) play FB? Nothing against Luepke, but I think Garcia or Johnson (both of which are over 300 lbs) might not be a bad choice to plow the road for Williams, Luepke, or Demercado?

And a man looks like a fullback that's really shifty and really fast and I under mess underestimated him and I don't want to hear about how you can't get a running back in the 5th round You know that's what they say around here right what do you expect from a 5th rounder that that's what you look for you accidentally stumble upon a player he'll probably have a very short career his nose was bleeding I mean this was a full full physical game from both sides and the Giants beat us that's it at home on the road with all the emotion they beat us..

Well, and I remember that, under Quinn, we kinda relied on takeaways at first to have a chance. The quickest way to improve the D is to force takeaways. Those, more than anything else, will help them to believe that they can become a good unit. To me, they didn't look lost, unlike with Eberflus. They just weren't physical enough, and I think the use of Zone was a bad move. Hopefully we will see more man blitzes. I think that'll play much more adequately to our unit.

A good point I guess. I really hope this was just the first game warm up and they still need to gel blues.
