Parcells just mentioned in his presser that he was told by two GMs yesterday that if Austin or Hurd had been waived, they would've taken them.

that explains hurd...but austin? I understand that hes got potential and whatnot, but if every person with potential was kept on the roster, wed have no room for a kickoff specialist lol

Even if someone else takes him, they still have to have something. I'm curious why BP wants to keep this guy and why other GM's are showing interest.

I thought he would make it to the practice squad because we heard nothing of him during camp. I know he has all the tangibles and I thought before camp he would do well, but I really haven't seen him do much.

I was really suprised when he made the 53, just curious as to what he's got.

6-3 215 is not bad. Other GM's noticed it. Glad we kept him if BP thinks he is that good. We need young WR's.

Why not let a guy with a lot of potential be on your roster but not available on gameday, as opposed to a guy with less potential be unavailable on game day...

Austin isn't hurting anything being on this roster, and the payoff may be signnificant someday.
