There's a reason Dak wants to get paid now

You guys are missing the boat. The team either has to pay him now, or be prepared to pay the franchise tag amount next year. He will sign for less than the franchise tag will cost us next year.

You either believe he can be the man and pay him market rate or you be prepared to lose him after this year. He has the team by the gonads if he completes one year under the franchise tag.

The team doesnt have to do anything. He's under contract for this season. The reason his people are so desparate to get signed now is because he and his people know that its more likely he'll show he's not worth the money if he waits.

We were told by loads of posters he'd be signed to 30m plus by now? What happened?

Many people on this board, including myself, have said that Jerry should wait until next year before looking at Dak's second contract. Keep him on the cheap another year.

He may struggle resulting in a better deal. Or he may excel under Kellen Moore and Jerry will have to pay more. It is a risk. But I would prefer to wait until next year.

But it looks to me like Jerry is paying him before the regular season starts.

Might wanna look into seeing a optimtrist.......

Heck, if he gets us to a Super Bowl and a win, pay him what he wants.
Like Garrett, this is a put-up or shut-up year for him too.

that's what an eagles fan would say, just saying, not saying you are

How is that what an eagles fan would say?

I’m not saying I want Dak to be overpaid.

But *gasp* I like the cowboys starting QB and want him to get an extension because I believe in him. That doesn’t scream eagles fan to me.

I’m giving Pappy a hard time because he is being overly emotional and at times borderline trolls the board with the same YouTube clips and taking every opportunity possible oh to rip the starting QB. And actually most of his criticism of the QB are over the top and not based in the actual reality of the type of player Dak is.

2019 Schedule:

@New Orleans (looking for revenge)
@New England
@Chicago (in the winter)
@Detroit

vs Green Bay
vs LA Rams

There's a damn good chance this guy cannot keep up with the firepower coming at him/us in the 2019 season. He knows this and so does his agent. If I were in control I'd take the risk that the '19 season humbles him a bit, his stock drops and we get him for a cheaper price after this season.

Better pay Dak now or else some other team will sign him......oh boy how can we live without the below 30 million a year QB ....

I gotta give you credit though Pappy. You are as persistent as it gets.

Yo. Paps is my dude. I would Ride with him any day...
As long as he doesn't mind me tripping on acid and drinking heavily the whole time.

Dak is confident in his abilities and expects to have another strong season.

If we wait till next year to resign Dak his price will continue to go up. Mahomes will likely get a $200 million contract in the offseason. The Cowboys already got outmaneuvered by Philly when they resigned Wentz early. The longer we wait the more we will have to pay Dak.

He wants a new contract now because he stands to increase his annual income by roughly 25 million dollars.

It really is a miracle some of you survived to adulthood. Even if an unfortunate bleach ingestion didn’t get you it’s a wonder your parents didn’t smother you out of sheer frustration. A puppy would have been cheaper, easier to house train and wouldn’t be making terrible threads on CZ decades later.

I am looking forward to seeing you get triggered by Dak’s upcoming extension.

It will be a sad day for the star but hey I'm not paying and taken to the cleaners.
Live and let live baby but a Sad day for what could have been!

I feel like him being one of the most underpaid players in the league, relative to his value, is also a motivating factor in him wanting an extension.

Underpaid, and *never* paid. Never got a big chunk of money.

He should be looking to lock in money more than squeeze every last penny out.

Unlike Cooper, who already has taken home 20+mil, and is looking at a 14mil check this year. He can and should play the long game.

I did not even include the revamped Eagles in this argument. This is going to be a tough schedule to navigate. I'd make him do it before paying him. The chances of his stock dropping going against these opponents is higher IMO.

Lol @ "revamped Eagles"
