There's something about this team that just feels different!

Maybe this season we won’t trade our best player a week before the opener…..

Its a process.

Understood. But we all know how this works. The N.F.C. least is terrible. The Commanders and Giants are doo-doo on a stick. Dallas might get up for Philly. But they will lay down against any other top tier teams in the league.

We might hate Philly, but I will admit they can win big games against top tier opponents. They have a talented GM and they are always a threat if they can get into the playoffs. Anyone finishing in second behind them in the division is just spinning their wheels.

Agree 100%

Because our illustrious GM let the defensive roster get down to community college level, im seriously not expecting ultimate success this season

All I want to see is the offense remain effective and the defense to make measurable strides.

Every Year, "this team feels different" every here they fail to reach the NFC title game, let alone the Championship game. Nothing is different about this team, then any other year. We have had good offense's and failed. We have had good defenses and failed.

Nothing is different until it is different.

Training camp hype is fun. Amiright? Only thing that is currently different is new defensive staff and new players on that defense with a lot of question marks on them. Plus Eagles won't have number 11. I feel that is going to hurt the Eagles and Hurts more than people think. Lemon could be good or he might actually be a Lemon. Don't get me wrong like the enthusiasm but I've learned many years ago not to get to high on this team until November and even then don't expect a deep run. Trust me I destroy much less stuff when they let me down when I do this. I am excited for this year however more so then the past two years this time of year.

That's just a new flavor of preseason, haven't played a game yet hype, you're smelling.
Yep.

Did it not smell different in 2020 when we hired our first Super Bowl-winning coach since Parcells in McCarthy and McCarthy handpicked his defensive coordinator (Mike Nolan)? We had one of the top offenses the season before with Kellen Moore as offensive coordinator and we retained him supposedly for continuity's sake. We clearly needed help on defense and while the Joneses didn't change their cheap ways (which they didn't this year either, outside of the Jalen Thompson contract), bringing in veteran defensive linemen Everson Griffin, Aldon Smith, Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe and some fairly young secondary help: Maurice Canady, Daryl Worley and Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, along with the long-in-tooth vet Brandon Carr. Fans even noted a change in our drafting because we went with the clearly best player available (CeeDee Lamb) instead of a need pick in the first round.

None of that means that fans didn't have their questions about the McCarthy hire and free agent additions, just like they do No-Schott, but it felt different after 10 years of Garrett. It was hearkening back to hiring Bill Parcells, but the result wasn't any better because the men in charge remained the men in charge.

We want to hope so we buy into the hype, but that's all it is is hype.
