Why is this team incapable of having both sides of the ball click at the same time? Last few years offense has been off but defense has kept them in it. Now it’s back to 2010-14. Defense won’t get stops.

I literally thought the exact same thing yesterday.

Great passing game? Check.
Decent running game? Check.
Mediocre-at-best, bend-don't-break defense with no big playmaking ability? Check.
Terrible coaching? Check.
Hovering around .500 and trending for 9-7, 10-6 and a first round exit? Check.

Dak is carrying the team just like Romo used to. His career will be ruined by Garrett just like Romo's was.

I agree. Especially under JG. Garrett prefers a running ball control offense that keeps his defense fresh. Kudos to Dak for proving the doubters wrong but I cant deny the feeling of Ive seen this before and it didnt work. We need our running game to pick up like it did for Romo and when Romo got a running game he was a legit MVP candidate.....and we could play with anyone.

Our next headcoach should come from the defensive side of the ball, since we'll have Dak, Cooper, and Zeke here for the next couple of years. The offense will be OK, so the defense needs to be shored up.

Honestly, the Cowboys are being run by an owner/GM who is counting on winning based more on luck at the craps table than building a championship team based on the cornerstones of vision, talent, and coaching. The talent is good enough to do better but the lack of vision and coaching kills this team year after year.

We are being led by a FO that honestly believes that “one of these days”, they will roll boxcars and win a championship. Look at the 49ers- they have built a bona-fide contender around a real GM, a solid HC and talent they’ve drafted- all in less than 5 years.

We’ve had 24 years of “the Jones Way”. All problems we have are fostered by our stubborn owner who hasn’t accepted that he doesn’t have a HC that can lead them past mediocrity and that if he wanted to win, he has to stop smothering this organization himself.

Jones is like many fans. He's enamored with stars and tries to build the team with that vision. Having a few stars is great, but you have to smart about which stars you give a 2nd contract.

I think the running game will get back on track. teams are figuring out very quickly that dak is no longer just an average guy. a few changes to the blocking scheme will help a lot. as for the defense, imo Marinelli continues to be the impediment to success. the d-line has been the weak link and that's rod's area of responsibility. the d-line is as predictable as the offense once used to be.

All bets are off when the playoffs begin. The KC defense actually stepped up in the divisional round and stuffed the Colts offense.

This team is more talented than those teams except for 2014.

The defense is just frustrating as hell, and the offense can't get going soon enough in games.
