These are the type of losses that set franchises back

Make no mistake, this game was a collapse of historical proportions. What we jsut saw was a game that will be talked about for years and years to come because of the sheer magnitude of the flop. The second half of this game could play out a thousand times and never once end up like it did again, the things that had to go right for Detroit to pull that off were so improbable that it wasnt even worth discussing.

This may be looked back upon as the game that not only turned the tide of the 2011 Cowboys but may ultimately alter the entire tenure of Jason Garrett and staff. That's how horrendously awful this was, it's a loss that will shake every last player and coach to the very core of their being and not many people bounce back easily from that.

Don't know if it's franchise changing but in 4 weeks Garrett and Romo are directly responsible for 2 historic regular season losses, blowing leads in a way that had never been done in 51 years of team history.

That isn't the kind of history we were hoping for when Garrett took over the reins. He HAS to change his philosophical approach to the games and learn how to win games by not beating himself! He says Jimmy and Saban are his teachers well he needs to talk to them and go back to class.

The truth is somewhere in between. Yes, it's just week 4 and we are ok with a .500 record. But also, this IS a catastroPhic loss that cannot be overlooked, especially since they seem epidemic, and as recent as this season in week 1, and almost weeks 2 and 3.

So I do somewhat lean with the OP. I think this team is at a crossroads that can't be chalked up to "let's just get healthy" rhetoric. This team has one and ONLY one opponent standing in their way and that's themselves.

So the fork in the road is quite simple, accept that you are what you are and be a .500ish team that will have great losses to go with it's great wins, or overcome the pressure of success, handle it, and become the true winner you can be.

The choice is that simple, and the time to make it is now. Pick a fork Dallas Cowboys, Now!

One thing I've always thought funny/curious about internet message boards is that I believe some of the posters actually think what we think/post actually makes a difference in anything. Some seem to think that if anybody posts that they believe we will lose a particular given game, that it is going to have an impact on the actual game. :laugh2: Now we have posts about people giving up or surrendering???? LOL Surrendering what? We're doing what everyone on an internet message board does. We're expressing our opinions and more importantly, VENTING. It's what we do and it's absolutely 100% meaningless. It does not affect anything associated with the Dallas Cowboys or any other NFL franchise. Everyone should do themselves a favor and ease up (myself included) on the board. Romo and Garrett sucked in the second half today. That's my opinion and the opinion of many. It's hard to argue, but if you want to, knock yourself out. I guarantee you that neither Tony Romo or Jason Garrett or anyone else associated with the Dallas Cowboys give a crap what is posted here.

Being a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and QB Tony Romo is a week to week thing around here. One week he's the worst QB when its crunch time, then for 2 weeks everyone is on the Romo bandwagon. Gets tiring reading all of this crap all of the time.

Hard to argue with anything you posted. After only two games, we've lost a game with a 14 point 4th quarter lead for the first time in history, and I think today was the biggest lead we've ever blown. Ouch!!!! That leaves a mark. We now have two weeks to get healthy and correct the mistakes. I'm anxious to see how we respond. It's not like we're 0-4, but we have lost two games we had won. Funny thing is, we've played our best football of the season during stretches of those two games. We just have to learn how to finish what we start. Regardless, I've been a Cowboy fan for over 40 years and my support is 100% behind Romo, Garrett, and anyone else associated with the team. I might not like some of the things I see and I might disagree with some of the approaches the team takes, but I'll always pull for a W week after week. Losing really takes a toll on my health and I am very serious when I say that. Stupid I know, but it is what it is.
