There are no moral victories, only deceiving losses.
For Jerry to accept that he is wrong, it needs to be convincing.
While the NFL protects the Cowboys from being blown outing prime time, it allows Jerry to sell the team as being "close", but we all know they aren't close to anything or any values that this franchise once stood for.
It would be much better if the Cowboys were soundly beaten. Only then will Jerry be forced to make the changes necessary for the Cowboys to return to glory.

It is hilarious anyone thinks the NFL must devise a conspiracy which protects THIS team from embarrassment...

Roger Goodell: "Jerry, we are not allowing Dallas to look bad during games. Do me a favor. Tell Eberflus to play more man and slide his corners up. The refs will throw flags if they get burnt."

Jerry Jones: "Now listen here Roger. I run this team. You don't. I tell Eberflus how to run this defense. You don't." <click>

....Looking at the defense.

OP claims the NFL is scripted like pro wrestling

Then claims Jerry should make changes to start winning.
And you're just the kind of fan the NFL wants.
You're too naive to think that both could be true.
Did you watch the Commanders lose in the final seconds last night?
How many prime time games go that way?
A bunch. That doesn't happen in the real world.

What an absolute loon .......... the thousands and thousands of people that work in the NFL and you think it could be scripted without anyone knowing.

I really do not see why Reality and the mods allow you to keep starting your garbage threads other than some of them find it hilarious.

I'm sorry you don't want to see it, but everyone else does.
It's naive to think Billionaires would leave their fortunes to a game of chance.
Referees can nudge a game in a certain direction without it being too obvious, but sometimes-like two years agowith the Cowboys versus the Lions on the day Jimmy Johnson was inducted into the ring of honor - they are obvious.
Advertisers and gambling sites don't want people going to bed early, and the Cowboys are still the flagship franchise of the NFL.
If Cowboys fans go away it would bring the whole league down. They make a great deal of money, but they have a lot of overhead, too.
The Chiefs rode the Taylor Swift train until fans started pointing out how blatant it was, so the NFL had to stop coddling them.
There's still real football played, but with rules that are in p lace to maximize profits.

So, the NFL caused Daniels (from the Commanders) to fumble the handoff to the running back. Wonder how much they paid Daniels for that fumble?

So, let me get this straight, Cowboys fans are the fans that’s keeping the NFL alive? What the world have you been smoking?

Close? They should be blow outs if our offense didn't have Williams Dak and Pickens

Brothers...

Both of you make good arguments.

Nothing on the field is forcing Jethro to make the changes necessary at the top. Only a hit to revenue and empty seats will get his attention.

But ultimately he’s not owning this team unless he’s the man.

He fired our back to back SB winning HC cause he wasn’t the man. There’s no hope for us until he’s gone cause winning isn’t priority.

Why don't you ask Derrick Barnes?
He had Dak for a safety on the 96 yard touchdown pass in the ring of honor game from two years ago that the Dak fans celebrated so much, and he didn't even open his arms to tackle him.
Some things happen; some things are made to happen.
But I have watched the NFL for over 50 years, and there is no world that exists in which 32 teams with 32 different philosophies and 32 different groups of players with 32 coaches that play each other evenly every time the prime time lights are on.
Not a real world, anyway.

Bottomline it’s about the revenue. And activity drives advertising. Trolls incite activity. Simple economics.

In the end we have control but we won’t ignore them.

I agree. I think there can be points taking away from both of these arguments. It’s hard to argue that a lot of prime time games come down to the last 2 minutes and a lot of Cowboys games (every one besides Chi) came down to OT or a last second kick. Well maybe not Philly but that was close all the way.

Also it’s hard to imagine everybody being in on such a massive conspiracy.

Week 1 @PHI: 1 catch potentially sets up a game winner
Week 4: GB: ONE stop in regulation or OT and DAL likely wins
Week 6: @car: Elam Penalty OR 4th & 4.

it's painful that this team, as bad as the Defense has been, could be 5-1 or 4-2 right now. horrible.

Yeah it would be very hard to fix such an elaborate scheme. Frankly the NFL would benefit immensely from helping get the Cowboys in the Super Bowl so what has held them back?
