All I've ever asked for is that the Cowboys are still in the running when Thanksgiving rolls around so I can fully enjoy this amazing holiday. As mediocre as the team has been and as devastatingly bad as the final results have turned out to be more often than not, they have also still been relevant at this time of year far more often than not.

This year? Comes down to this Giants game. If they win, BAM!, we're in this thing! If they lose? Although the team would still technically control their own destiny, I think only the most optimistic (or delusional) would suggest that we're still in position to make the playoffs.

Don't ruin my Thanksgiving, fellas...or else. LOL.

I don't allow the Cowboys to ruin my Sundays, Monday nights, Thanksgivings, Christmases or whatever day they play on anymore I've become immune to their losses. I'm not going to let a dysfunctional football team I have no control over affect a Holiday with my family.

I'll be too busy enjoying my family and friends to let the Cowboys ruin my Thanksgiving...they'll be a program to watch while I down some turkey, Guinness Extra Stout and pie, nothing more.

I've learned not to invest my heart and sole in the Dallas Cowboys as long as Jerry Jones is here, especially of late. It's not worth it. Maybe there will come a time when I have faith in Jerry - but I sure as hell ain't gonna hold my breath.

Bring on the turkey, win lose or draw!

Trying to do this - have not been overly successful, but getting better at it. Problem is this year, have a good buddy coming over to help do the deep fried turkey in back yard - who is a die hard Raiders fan. So there will be all sorts of smack talk, bets and just down right shenanigans going on - and then the game...

It's harder to ignore under the influence of alcohol. One thing's for sure, the in-laws will receive no quarter if we manage to play down to Oakland.

I love the cowboys… but I love football more… and life even more.

I've learned to tune them out when needed. My expectations are never too high, because they haven't been that good in years.
If they loose to the raiders, sad to say, but I wouldn't be surprised. unexpected, yes, surprised, no.

Still thinking about Sunday and the Giants. For some reason the Raiders aren't concerning me right now.

Actually, the game on Thanksgiving is secondary for me. I was referring more to the anticipation leading up to the game. If they beat the Giants, I'll be able to look forward to the Thanksgiving Day game with great anticipation for several days. If they lose to the Giants? Not really, because their playoff chances would have virtually disappeared IMO. And without the hope of making the playoffs, the game just becomes a bunch of people running around in pads.

I am used to the loses at this point..........almost expect a loss unless we are playing a 1 or 2 win scrub team.

The game on Sunday will have no bearing whatsoever on my Thanksgiving. I've learned, with age, to draw the line between a mere game and what is truly important.
