Who said they watched without optimism for 30 years? Maybe after a 1/4 century they learned something. Some people are just slower on the uptake than others.

I'm with you...we still got Dak and we still have Jerry. We were "all in" last year with Mike McCarthy and even tried to resign the guy!!! Nah...I'm not buying this improvised strategy is going to magically yield results.

I have a lot of optimism going into camp this year. I think the coaching staff is way better than it was under MM. Shooty just has a vibe that I'm digging, Adams and Flus both are really good at what they do.
And I think the team is a lot better too. They added several really good players in the draft. They added some solid players in FA and they added a really good player that fits their biggest offensive need perfectly in Pickens.

The 1 spot that concerns me the most is at 1T (that's always the case). I'd like to see them make a trade to get a veteran starter to help Mazi and the rookie Toia.

Until it starts turning into vinegar inside your stomach when you realize the player isn’t as good as you thought they would be.

By the end of last year’s disappointing season, I was very much checked out and indifferent.

And when the Schotty hire was initially announced, even more so.

But I must admit that as the off-season has gone by, my interest has been rekindled.

I loved the assistant coaching hires.

I loved what they did with trades and lower level free agency.

I loved the draft.

I love the Pickens trade.

I think they’ve had a fantastic offseason and I’m eagerly looking forward to training camp and the upcoming season.

It may not be a complete 180 but yes, things are starting to take shape... It may take a year with all of the changes.... I really hate saying this but...... Give it time...... I really hate saying that because 30 (plus) years is time however the coaching group change is so drastic.......

I'm optimistic about the upcoming season for the first time in a while, but I will admit there is a part of me still thinking ..

I need to see real games before I get back onboard. Ther were a lot of issues that bothered me but the biggest one will that trumps them all is Dak. I need him to be better. Two straight pathetic playoffs performance where he couldn’t figure out the defense and looked like an amateur.

I’m back in too. Not from a I’m expecting a championship in but from a we can be a playoff team again in. I’ve been begging for a calculated risk all offseason and last offseason. Pickens is exactly that.

My only complaint now is that it seems ridiculous to not pursue a strong interior defender earlier in FA. Feels like that may come back to bite us in the playoffs.

I just don’t understand what possibly is going to change to pull people back in. We have a QB who is what he is and there is still a deeply entrenched dysfunction within in the franchise with Jerry as GM and an unproven and questionable head coach. Did the entire league just miss on him or is Jerry way out in front of people?

I’ll go with the league.

It’s our nature to be optimistic but then there’s doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

I hope Parcells doesn’t come back to haunt you with his great line….

Overall, I like the offseason.

Just can't say I care for the DT position being largely unchanged/hoping that Mazi gets it going this year and we are going to hope Kneeland and others can at least provide D-Law's edge setting ability on the left side .
Understand not every position can get love in an offseason, but at the same time just feels like a known weakness went untouched. Can't say I can expect too much from day 3 DT's year 1.

What changes is that they let nearly half the teams into the playoffs these days in a parity drive league.I remain very skeptical they can win a championship, but should be better or competitive with 80% of the league.
