By the end of last year’s disappointing season, I was very much checked out and indifferent.

And when the Schotty hire was initially announced, even more so.

But I must admit that as the off-season has gone by, my interest has been rekindled.

I loved the assistant coaching hires.

I loved what they did with trades and lower level free agency.

I loved the draft.

I love the Pickens trade.

I think they’ve had a fantastic offseason and I’m eagerly looking forward to training camp and the upcoming season.

I feel the same way, Right down to the individual moves. I actually have hope now and look forward to the season. Never thought I would be saying that

I expect us to be competitive during the regular season (as long as we stay healthy), but I won't expect postseason success until I see it. This front office just hasn't earned those kinds of expectations from fans.

I've written elsewhere that I've gone from being a fan who expects to be competing for Super Bowls to a fan who wants to be entertained. I do think the moves the team has made gives the Cowboys a good shot of being entertaining.

Agree with all of it, and the Pickens trade has grown on me since my biggest concern was getting a player for 1 year and giving up a third….didnt think about possibly getting a 4th or so rd compensatory pick if he walks. Maybe he fits and we sign him and it’s all good, maybe he matures a little and just needed out of Pitt…..it may be a meh decision for the year beyond but it IS a good thing for us this year at least.
If we got Chubb (instead of keeping Javonte Williams and miles sanders)…combined with our two rookie RBs then I would be VERY happy with this offseason, considering how many needs we had (DT remains to be seen).

Best to wait and see how it goes once the season starts before being pulled back in. I’m starting to see posts where the Cowboys are back and at least one fan is talking SB…TAP THE BRAKES!

It's a true testament to how good the Cowboys are at PR. Above all else this franchise does the best job in PR, simply incredible.

I hate to admit but me to. I don’t like the Shotty hire but everything after that has been money. Had a damn good offseason.

Decision making in current personnel...

Interior offensive line:
It’s fair to be critical of this given the Cowboys ongoing needs at other positions, but it’s still money well spent. Offensive lines suffer injuries, and it is important that teams with postseason aspirations employ ample depth in the trenches. The investment on the interior also keeps alive the emergency option of moving left guard Tyler Smith to left tackle.

Ideally Smith would stay where he plays best, but if Tyler Guyton can’t handle things at LT, it would be better to have Smith outside than employing a turnstile on Dak Prescott’s blindside. All of that depth at guard makes such a Plan B possible.
