I like flying under the radar, but now they're starting to notice.

This Week: 11

My goal as a writer is to always quickly admit when I'm wrong about a player or team.

I was wrong about the Dallas Cowboys.

Rod Marinelli has been a visionary for the team as the defensive coordinator. Players like linebackers Rolando McClain and Bruce Carter looked like they were done before the 2014 season began, but now they're key contributors on this defense. Even with cornerback Morris Claiborne continuing to struggle, Brandon Carr and Orlando Scandrick are making plays at corner in his stead.

The offense here is good enough to win the East, without question. Tony Romo is playing smart, the offensive line is playing better than any in the league and DeMarco Murray looks like the best running back in the NFL through four weeks.

The Cowboys are quickly becoming the team no one can afford to overlook.

Unreal how reactionary the national media is. Could the Cowboys get any more love than they are this morning? Let's pump the brakes a bit boys! I'm very excited about the effort last night, but geez o whiz, we're still a fairly average team, no?

Welcome back to the spotlight. I'm pretty sure Garrett won't let the team eat the cheese and get fat.

A lot of backpeddling going to be done today. I might watch some of First Take to here what those bumbling idiots have to say about us now. Last night Faulk and Deion took their shots with Faulk actually giving us credit but Deion is still as clueless as ever.

We look pretty dang good but this team has burned us so many times that I feel like i'm just waiting for something bad to happen.

The strong running game just eliminates so much of the BS though. It's more about imposing our will and how much we want to win instead of perfectly executing passes every down.

All they talked about so far this morning on Mike and Mike. They asked every football related guest if the Cowboys were for real. And everyone said yes, because of the offensive line. Well. Except for one guy who still wants them to prove they can remain consistent. So it's more than just Bleacher Report.

The backpedalling this morning shows how meaningless preseason "predictions" can be. Unfortunately fans fall into the same trap every year taking these "predictions" seriously.

Ah...yep! The kool-aid and cupcakes are coming from all angles and with fevered, feral ferocity. The Cowboys would do well to stay on a diet! The Saints lapped it up for months and look where they are now. The season won't go like last night, and there will be some disappointments ahead. Not too high after a win and not too low after a loss, seems to be the proper way to behave. I felt kind of sorry for Payton last night, BUT they had it coming after last year. They were owed some payback! Sometimes you're the wind-shield...and sometimes, the bug.

My armchair psychology sees something off w Deion the last year or so in general. Not the happy positive guy he used to be. Domestic issues can do that plus he had some trouble with his school. Life in big D outside of football hasn't been great for him lately

There is something wrong with the Saints.

That being said......the Cowboys beat a bad team they way they're supposed to beat a bad team.

Refreshing.

I have a feeling Rob Ryan will be job hunting again. His defense looked like the same defense we had when he was here.
