If you've been a fan of this team long enough it's pretty easy to see the train wreck coming. It's comical that some people just don't see it. Dak has been a curse. He has played just good enough to prevent the team from going all in on drafting a QB in the first round. In the meantime the Eagles and Rams have sold their soul and traded away draft picks and rebounded and are still in the race. When it comes to drafting a QB this GM has scared money. Ohh noo it might set the team back if you miss. Oh well! Keep playing it safe and keep getting what your getting.

You're right about changes to the approach to take next steps.
I'm one of the fossils who recall the heartbreak in the 60's ("Next Years Champion..." and Ice Bowl, Cowboys were better than Green Bay), the glory in the 70's and succeeding teams. I'm so jaded I probably shouldn't be in this thread.
I suppose I should probably be a bit more jaded considering that I've never seen the success that you have. That said, I think I can see where there is potential with this team. I just hope McCarthy or his replacement can take it to the next level.

The first SB win ('72, Dolphins) was sweetest to me. I guess one of the few perqs of being older is the privilege of seeing these games, the organization and the famed tradition's beginnings.
I sincerely hope, R, for you and other younger fans, the Cowboys will soon contend for more Lombardi trophies. But IMO, the league office isn't much interested in that. Or anything else but profits.

Lets get straight to the point!!
1. Dak...sick of Dak playing scared. Not seeing the field. Double clutching the ball.
2. McCarthy. sick of his in game decisions. His game management. His play calling. I never seen a play caller killing it then go away from the things he was calling that were killing it. Never seen a seasoned coach make so may errors during key stretches of a game. McCarthy goes from a race car driver to an old lady driving for no reason at all during games on the road.
3. Team.. sick of them not able to win and in some cases show up on the road. Sick of it when one guy goes down. Season over darn near. Sick of the whining about officials. They do SUCK! But you think getting on podcast or locker room crying going to make them want to throw the flag for you now??
4.Sick of Dan Quinn. He just can't make in game decisions either sometimes doing games. Can't come up with great blitzes when needed. Usually get his hat handed to him against good offensive coordinator's. Obviously can't get his team to play physical and attack on the road- especially. I mean how does Baltimore get physical players on defense every year? I've never seen a Baltimore team coached by Harbaugh not be physical on both sides of the ball.
5. Jerry goffy azz Jones!!! The worst friggin GM in football history for this length of time. I could answer my last question about being physical. Hard for a team to get physical practicing every year on a Bay Watch practice field. Sick of this clown not going all in to win a Championship in the last few years. Sick of him running his BIG azz mouth all the time versus doing something to make an impact during the season. I could go on but probably get banned if I really crank it up.
6. Will McClay.... Sick of him also. So overrated. Look at his misses in the first round-2nd round. Those are the main picks that's going to build your team the quickest. Oh...but I hit elsewhere. Yea..... but you missed or passed on great players. Watts to name one that sticks out. But maybe it's not you. Maybe Jerry just got you propped up and in the end Jerry pulls the strings on picks.
7. YouTube shows on the Cowboys. Make more excuses for the Cowboys then a parent with bad kids.
8. Sick of myself....from sticking with this team for so many years. When Jimmy left "for my own well being" I should have left also. But it's like a drug now. I'm a true addict when it comes to these clowns
Sounds like you may need a new team.

I'd imagine that all the front offices are just interested in money and whatever makes the most money. The SB is for the coaches, players, and fans. The real Super Bowl for the owners is the Forbes Magazine.

I transitioned from “sick if its” to acceptance a long time ago. There’s a variable that’s been in play for decades that will make it difficult for this team to get it done. Once you recognize that variable, you will temper your expectations.

I don't think Jerry and Stephen ruined the franchise. Under their purview the Cowboys have been one of the top regular season winningest teams in the NFL. That stated, post 90s, they have kept us mediocre based on post season results spanning nearly 30 years. Family football franchise owning can be a curse. I would be quite happy and hopeful if we went deeper in the playoffs this season.
LMAO is that you Jerry?

I'm sick of crybaby fans who love a good excuse, and the Jones boys who escape ridicule from those fans.

The refs won't let us win!
Goodell won't let us win!

This team used to do a lot of winning. That changed when a couple of rich guys decided they wanted to be the faces of the franchise, call all of the shots and do weekly radio shows. You don't suppose they could actually be the problem? Any rational mind knows they are, but it's more comforting to blame outside forces. Cry some more.

The Stafford and Wentz trades are interesting diametrically opposed strategies than we took/take. Trade the (soon to be) costly QB and refocus.

In response to the OP, it's the apparent rinse and repeat: kicking CAP, bring back same vets, remain relevant but never going over the top and hoping that we overcome the same problems that keep arising.
