UK hires Rachel Newman Baker

Rachel Newman Baker, the NCAA managing director of enforcement for development and investigations, has left her position to become the senior associate athletic director for compliance at the University of Kentucky, the school announced Tuesday.

Kentucky offered a scholarship to seventh-grader Jairus Brents on Thursday after the 13-year-old participated in a football camp at the university this past weekend.

They need to ban giving 13 year old kids football scholarships. It really angers me.

Not sure what to think about that lady being hired. Maybe they are about to get the hammer down on their basketball recruiting?

I think the contrast is funny. They go out and hire somebody who is supposed to help clean up NCAA violation issues I guess? Yet, on the same day, they go after a kid who is 12?

Hard to understand the culture. Don't get me wrong, a lot of schools are doing this and it rubs me the wrong way too but this whole going out and hire this women while recruiting this kid is stupid funny.

Something smells like fish in Kentucky.

If a kid is that good at 13, .. Kentucky will not be able to sniff him when he is a senior.

He will be good enough to go to a real football school.
