From the 50,000-watt nerve center of accurate truth and supreme prescience, some things to look for and not look for next year.

Don't look for:

1. Bledsoe (easy one)
2. Rivera
3. Austin Miles
4. Henry
5. Davis
6. Fasano (he's been underused, therefore practically invisible)
7. Hurd (flash in the pan, but a good kid)
8. Ellis (da*m difficult injury from which to return)
9. Canty (underachiever. Won't recover in time to stay on the first team or on the team)
10. Zimmer (A victim of Parcell's micromanaging the defense)

Look for:

1. T.O. (Do you think Jerry wants the Commanders to have him?)
2. Julius Jones (For the short-sighted fans who don't want him, consider this: If, god forbid, MBIII goes down and the Cowboys are stupid enough to trade JJ, Tyson Thompson is it. I can't see a rookie stepping in and there are few FAs as good as JJ.)
3. An overhaul of the secondary. Newman and Williams will remain. Linebackers will be asked to roam the short field and let the safeties help the corners more.
4. A pass rush that features Spears but with a blue-chip lineman(men) to provide pressure up the middle. Canty, if not traded, will be asked to produce or step aside quickly.
5. Fewer down the sideline passes that drives madden nuts. Madden, for all his hot air, does have a point that the 'Boys need to get T.O. in the open field more instead of the difficult sideline passes with double coverage.
6. Witten will become a featured player along with T.O. rather than be the 4th choice after Glenn and Crayton.
7. Romo will play almost exclusively in the shotgun position. He's more dangerous (duh!) that way.
8. The emergence of Hatcher as a pass rush specialist.
9. More Carpenter, less Bradie James
10. Pat Watkins will emerge as a feared FS.

Fasano isn't going anywhere, Canty has to be replaced before he is waved so hold off and remember the three year rule. Hurd and Austin are quality special teamers and top value for undrafted players.

Again to replace Henry you better have someone lined up to go, do you trust a rookie?

Rivera will require an aggressive free agent move to oust unless you are willing to experiment with Corey Proctor or a rookie.

Zimmer will have some 'splainin' to do this off-season but it is not difficult to imagine him back, personally I'd like Dallas to pursue Mike Singletary.

If Dallas advances to the Divisional round I can see Parcells coming back otherwise look for Les Miles to come aboard as the new ring leader.

It's a given that the 'Boys would have to line up guys to replace the guys I listed.

Still, I think that Parcells will be here next year and he will make these changes.

As for Austin Miles, I just don't see the consistent play.

You would think it a given but some people seem to have it in mind to cut people like it were a tax cut and not bother seeing what would be the option in the stead of the booted incumbent.

Assuming that BP returns has HC,, there is no way he gets rid of Canty, Davis, Henry, Fasano, Ellis(unless its a medical thing), and Miles. I can see zimmer gettingt he boot, Bledsoe I think is a no brainer.. and Rivera,, I am not sure about,, I think BP keeps him one more year to bring Procter along and to keep some mojo with the current line.

as far as what to expect, again if BP is the HC.. no way is Romo in the Shotgun more than 20-30% of offensive plays.

If Dallas continues to be enimic I would be happy with new blood in the staff. I'm all for Les Miles and Mike Singletary coming in and making some changes.

Forgive my stupidity.. but does Les Miles have any NFL experience as a coach.. any coach.. that's not a smart arse question either, i am not familiar with his back ground.

The reason I ask is I really don't want an NFL rookie to take over this team next year if BP leaves. For all the greatness that was Jimmy, he did go 1-15 his first year. I think this team is very close to being something special and I would feel better with an NFL experienced coach, that knows how to work the FA market, the cap, evaluate players at this level, etc. The perfect thing to do would be to go find another teams Sean Payton and steal him. As far as a Defensive Coord. MS wouldn't be a bad choice,, personally I would like to get Buddy Ryan's son from Oakland.. that D has over achived a lot this year,, with NO Offense to support it and about 1/3 of the talent we have.

Tight ends coach in Dallas under Chan Gailey and O-line coach for the Dolphins before taking over as Oklahoma St. head coach and leading them to three bowl games in four seasons.
Took over for Nick Saban in LSU and has produced two BCS appearances and 11 win seasons.

He's good and could bring some draft player knowledge with him as well as some hot new coaching blood from the college ranks.

FYI, no blood relation to Buddy Ryan will ever dawn the Cowboy colors in any capacity.

Don't look for:

1. Bledsoe (easy one)
2. Rivera
3. Austin Miles
4. Henry: He is a better CB then you think, think K.Smith when Deion was here.
5. Davis
6. Fasano (he's been underused, therefore practically invisible)He is a rookie TE
7. Hurd (flash in the pan, but a good kid) Him and Austin could make as the token Randal Williams
8. Ellis (da*m difficult injury from which to return) Nope unless he can't walk
9. Canty (underachiever. Won't recover in time to stay on the first team or on the team)Next year will be his make or break year look how long Ekuban hung around before getting shipped off.
10. Zimmer (A victim of Parcell's micromanaging the defense) Is he micromanaging or saving us from extreme blowouts because Zimmer does not have the instincts for the 3-4 like had for the 4-3

Look for:

Who is going to replace Henry and Davis/Watkins Linebackers will be asked to roam the short field and let the safeties help the corners more. But some here think RW can't cover
4. A pass rush that features Spears but with a blue-chip lineman(men) to provide pressure up the middle. Canty, if not traded, will be asked to produce or step aside quickly. Spears was never a pass rusher in college. So all this work will set the team back what 2-3 years
5. Fewer down the sideline passes that drives madden nuts. Madden, for all his hot air, does have a point that the 'Boys need to get T.O. in the open field more instead of the difficult sideline passes with double coverage. It isn't the play it is the release the WR gets coming off the line that puts the wideout too close to the sideline
6. Witten will become a featured player along with T.O. rather than be the 4th choice after Glenn and Crayton. TE are complimentary recievers unless he runs a 4.5 he will never be a featured option, if he ran a 4.5 or most likely would be a wideout.
7. Romo will play almost exclusively in the shotgun position. He's more dangerous (duh!) that way. Stupid
8. The emergence of Hatcher as a pass rush specialist.
9. More Carpenter, less Bradie James Again stupid 2 different players 2 different positions
10. Pat Watkins will emerge as a feared FS. Though you said TNew and RW are the only ones brought back in the secondary
