Think we might take a look at Verba?

we worked him out last year and passed then, not sure we would consider him.

I would think we'd take another look. His only problem was he thought too much of himself; maybe a year of being unemployed has softened his stance.

We wouldn't touch him.
They couldn't get him back on the plane outta town fast enough according to Spagnola.

Unless he's softened his demands for how much $$$$ he wants then I want no part of him in Big D. He's nothing but a psycho and a jerk that really doesn't deserve to wear the Star but considering our need at RT, you have to consider the option. But again he better have softened his contract demands

Clearly he would have softened his demands. And we need all the help we can get. Especially with Fabini and Adams coming off of injuries.

If he were a guard then I think we might consider it. With Adams, Fabini, Pettiti and Colombo on the roster, I don't think we are hurting at OT. At least not enough to pay a bad character guy like Verba what he wants.

yup.

he obviously made a great impression.

not gonna happen.

WEll, Mickey said that Columbo has really improved his strength, and the coaches are thrilled with him, they think he can really help us this year. Got to remember the last 2 years he couldnt work out with weights due to his dislocated knee cap.

In december maybe november too Parcells said columbo was just starting to get back in shape and workout with weights. So, I am saying if he can stay healthy, we may have something, another reason why the Cowboys didnt draft an offensive linemen early.

Along with Fabini playing this year, he is real experienced, and nasty too, can play both positions. I think Fabini can play 5-6 games, can use Columbo like on some short yardage 3rd and ones, etc. Till Rob Petti comes along, dont give up on him, Parcells had to see something in him.

NFL | Verba contemplating a comeback
Mon, 1 May 2006 18:15:56 -0700
ESPN.com's John Clayton reports former NFL OT Ross Verba is considering an NFL comeback. He paid the Cleveland Browns last year to break his contract, and he never landed a job. Verba has taken calls from the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals requesting visits and could be one of the most active free agent players this week.

Anyone think we might see if Verba's changed his attitude?

seriously doubt it...probably less than a 1% chance

David

I read this guy had a big ego problem last year and wanted a truck load of $$$$$ to play

Heard about Mickey's comments re Colombo with Jerry Jones. The only problem is we won't know until TC how much he can help us although the 2 vet minicamps might provide a clue; same goes for Pettiti. Isn't there a vet minicamp coming up late this month & another one again in June? Anyway, looking forward to TC in late July--although I dread the long drought between the rookie minicamp this weekend and TC.

Also read that Adams is already 100% back. He just needs to shake the rust off.
