This is one of the big reasons I believe we are six -too . Methodical football. The slant route, the play action, Run , the tight end. It’s like we using a wide outs way too often. With the offense of line injuries we don’t have the time to sit back there for the intermediate deep ball. I say if we go back to methodical dink and dunk football control the clock we can beat anyone in this league. We have to get down to the basics in winning third down again. Even on defense. That down will make or break you

Our strength is the explosive capabilities of the offense. We need to score points, get a lead and hope the defense can be opportunistic. If we try to dink and dunk we will make a mistake, punt the ball away and the defense will get mauled. Dak, Cooper, Lamb, Schultz and possibly Gallup when he returns is the best thing we have.

That’s what I have been saying about this game. Get the ball out to the play makers and let them make plays. Shultz is good with the ball. Lamb and others. We should be able to run the ball. If we can get behind Martin and run through the stacked box we will control the game. Dink and dunk and the big plays will come later. I see the falcons defense isn’t that good. Our WR and Dak have to be crisp. If one is dinged up then get him out and get another in. If Gallup is back we may see a 4 WR set. Spread them out and run.

You guys need to understand that this is not the 2016 offense. That team could grind opponents into dust. The third down efficiency was incredible. Between the offensive line, Dak and Zeke it was very hard to stop. The offensive line is no where near as good as it was then. Dak doesn't run any more so that threat is gone. Zeke is not as explosive as he was. We are no longer the same team. Third down efficiency is not going to be the strength of this team but explosive plays certainly can be.

This team at present, isn't likely to be successful at creating the time needed to make the long ball a successful venture. They're more likely to find success in moving the ball with the short passing game. It's likely to remain that way, as long as the OL isn't pass protecting any better than they are now.

You cannot get behind Martin if the other 4 blockers lose. On that failed fourth down on Sunday, Martin kicked his man out and would have created a huge hole except that Biadasz and Williams got knocked back at the snap and closed the hole Martin had created. If we are going to be effective running we need at least two adjacent blockers to win, especially in short yardage. Hopefully with another week to get his sea legs under him Collins can go back to being dominant and he and Zack can form that wall we need on the right side. Nate Newton said during the week that he looked fine for the first few snaps but was gassed from that point on. I don't know that you can fix conditioning in one week.. but it should at least be incrementally better. There may also have been an adrenaline factor at play with him as well, having sat out as long as he did. I do think we should be able to run against ATL ... but not if we can't move them off the ball.

why do we need a 160mil qb for a bus driver? want to do that put rush in..lmao..we definitely need to be methodical when needed but we didn't bring in 3 wrs and pay dak to dink and dunk..

Like it or lump it this is the Dak Prescott show now. I may not be as high on Dak as some people around here but I am at least willing to say he is our best hope and he should be given the opportunity to win or lose these games. Would like to see us move away from the read option / run pass option stuff that was great in 2016 but is no longer as effective. Would prefer more straight up play action / spread them out shot gun type stuff. The type of stuff you do when you have a 40 million dollar pocket passer.

If you can't protect him it doesn't really matter how much you pay the QB.. He's not going to be able to do a whole lot for you. And they pay Dak to win games however he has to. Dink and dunk, run and shoot, bombs away, whatever it takes. I don't really care HOW they win.. so long as they win.. I'm not one of those people who is going to come on Monday morning complaining because "Dak only threw for 180 yards and is not earning his money" if we win the damn game. I'll leave that nonsense to other people. I don't care if he hands off to Zeke 30 times and Pollard another 15.. If the Cowboys win I will be happy.

Interesting thought.. but to be honest I have not noticed us running a lot of that this year. Do you think we run it more than once or twice a game? With Dak coming off the ankle I can't recall seeing it even once other than that two point conversion Sunday.

Take whatever the defense gives you. Scheme some 1on 1 matchups and attack. Find ways to get the defense in a run favorable look and hand it off. Jumbo package, 2TE's, whatever it takes.

Whatever it takes to win. Dak can read defenses with the best of them and make the right call at the line of scrimmage. That's why you pay him.

Yeah someone pointed out on one of the podcasts that it's stupid to try to play power football with three wide receivers in the game. We have been doing that on 4th and 1 basically having two receivers outside of the TE on one side and then the other receiver basically line up tight on the other side. Now who the hell is the 200 pound receiver going to block on a short yardage play? Bad scheme.. that falls on Moore and Dak.. If you are going to go for it on 4th and short with that personnel group you HAVE to spread the defense out .. lining everybody up tight allows the defense to basically put 9 guys around the line of scrimmage with really only 6 true blockers.. That might explain why we suddenly cannot convert those.

The long ball would've been fine last week, if not for dropped passes and overthrows.

The passing yardage leader has never won the super bowl.

What you're proposing is a one dimensional O, the kind that gets shut down in the playoffs. Not to mention the type that gets your QB killed.

Oh, and we just lost the last game, and one of the big reasons was running the type O you're referring to.

if if if..whatever i see elite qbs overcome those issues more times then not..lets stoop making excuses for dak, you pay him 160mil to overcome those issues if not you roll with dalton if its about prefect protection. The last game was bad all around but give me break he had time and missed 3 open wrs for big yards..

its time to step up or stop talking about dak as Élite ok rock..

I get he sunder bit more pressure but that what his tier is supposed to be above to cover up he was missing one starter..sorry he had time to throw and missed players all game..the league saw this they will load the box and challenging daks calf and his mental state..

we didnt pay AC and draft gallup and lamb to have dink and dunk style controlled offense.. sure at time's it calls for that but im tired of hearing these excuses this week..it was not all dak but elite tags are saved for players who overcome challenges not have excuses laid at their feet..

hit the open guys , dont throw an INT that was unnecessary to even let go , and live uo to your new found tier one elite status fans were laying at his feet 2 weeks ago.this unstoppable offense.
the 40 burger offense

i get the OL a big deal but he missed all the opportunities he did have time and they were huge plays...he has to hit those all of them..IM not putting this all on his but Moore, MM and this vaunted offense needs to live up to the hype and not have a 2019 collapse..

you pay him to hit 3 w/o chunk plays, not throw a pass into the toes of Wilson, and not throw a INT when it wasn't necessary. Sorry but you hype this man its time for him to live up to that,,its these times in the past that dak haters and troll come out and no im not one of them im a realist if these guy has truly turned corner he needs to carry this entire team few games and not look like 2019 last 6 games dak. thats where all these narratives started every time the team began to fial he looked like pedestrian qb..

2019 philly 2 game was like the Denver game and dak isn't play well the rest fo The season sans the last game against wft..well that not good enough..no he doe need to be perfectly but he can not lay an egg like last week regardless of the OL and adversity, that is what happened in 19..if hes a different qb now, we will see the next 4 games..

The OL lacked providing enough time for Dak to be accurate, with the scant amount of time to go long.

Back then, it was off most of the time. Maybe, when Tyron Smith makes his return, we'll be OK, again?

You pay him to be an elite QB that helps the team win no matter how the offense is played.
