That was really good read.
I read an article yesterday, can't remember where but it was about how the Cowboys playbook for Dak allowed him to only have to read half the field. He only has to figure out a couple key reads (much like this article).
What's interesting about this is that in Roethlisberger's entire rookie season he was only given half the field to read and he went 13-0. He eventually expanded from there. I think this is a great way to give a player confidence and ease them into the complexity of the league.
It also makes you think about how unbelievable it is for a guy like Romo to execute pre-snap reads and audible a play based on the whole field.
There's a reason about 12 guys on the entire planet can play the position consistently at a high level.
