This Cowboy team reminds me a bit of the 2005 Steelers

Consider:

Both teams came off a sensational year that came up short of a Super Bowl
(13-3 and 15-1, respectively)

Both teams had a fast start

Both teams had a bumpy road

Both teams had a QB injury

Well...

Charlie batch delivered whereas Brad Johnson did not.

The Steelers ended up in the playoffs with fate out of their hands. I think KC would have made it if they just won their last game. They were seeded lowest.

You can identify that the Steelers were a good team, but Bens injury was the cause of their bumpy road. And they were severely underrated... We are overrated, and no one knows whats wrong with us.

Also they had luck on their side. Vanderjact misses. Palmer gets season injured. Luck is not on our side. It could be against us.

I think we could be more Similar to last years Giants.

What is the cause of our bumpy road?

Remember our game with KC that Dec-they were waxing us in the first half UNTIL Larry Johnson gave nothing but a half **** blitz pickup attempt on Scott Fujita...which resulted in a TD the other way for us.

Otherwise, they would have went up 21-10 at the half, and would have cruised from there. Really-we got lucky in that game. Thanks to a fleaflicker in the first half, we ended up having a chance to win it when all was said and done. Even Tony Gonzales pulled his little Wade impersonation at the end saying, "The better team lost". Heck-their offense was waxing us throughout the game.

Pt being that the Chiefs win this game, it was THEY who would have gotten that last WC spot, and NOT the Steelers.

Yah-Pitt, while playing lights out, also got some incredible luck to go along with it. Honestly-I do NOT see us getting either in Dec.

one of the problems with this team is that people think just cause others did it's automatically due to happen with this bunch and they don't need to work for it.

we've been compared to the 97 Broncos (Romo said this :bang2:), 07 Giants and now the 05 Steelers. One of the things all these teams had that we don't is good coaching.

chances are if this team is like anyone it's the 04 Cowboys :bang2:

they had a great defense and a great OL, they also forced a ton of turnovers

I fail to see any comparison at all

I dont think we are like the 2005 Steelers. They could still play really good defense and run the ball even after Ben got hurt. Tommy Maddox relieved him for about three game and was terrible. Fumbles and INTs cost them some games in this stretch. They were able to get on a roll in December when Ben came back and played mistake free football. Does that sound like our team? Not even close. If we could play great defense during this Romo-less period I would have some hope. Yesterday removed what little hope I had of this team turning it around.

If anything this team reminds me more of the 1997 team that quit on Barry Switzer. We started out fast (37-7 win over Pittsburgh) and tanked as the injuries began to pile up. It was the most pathetic end to a season I can remember and I've been watching since 1970.

The 2004 team also comes to mind because we had a lot of off field issues with Darren Woodson hurt, Quincy Carter released, Antonio Bryant throwing a towel at Parcells and being traded to Cleveland along with the injuries to Terry Glenn and Richie Anderson among many others. This team showed no heart down the stretch and wasted what was to be a very promising season.
