It's a damn shame that dude aint in the Hall of Fame. A safety who covered slot receivers, tight ends, blitzed off the edge, is the leading tackler in Cowboys history.. was a key player on 3 championship defenses. The anti-Cowboys bias strikes again. I think Woody will eventually get in.. in about 20 years..

Agree Ronnie, the guy could do it all. We are still trying to replace the guy and just think how long that has been.
Sadly. I don't think we will ever replace him.

Played outside corner, slot, FS, Box safety, LB and played special teams.. Just not going to get another one like that.

I hope it doesn't take 20 years for him to get into the HOF but if he doesn't make it then there really isn't a HOF.

He 100% deserves to be in.

It was nice seeing RoyWill 31 and the rest of Woody's 90s teammates talk about him.

Yeah that type of versatility is EXTREMELY rare. Dude could run stride for stride with Jerry Rice on one play.. then body up with Brent Jones on the next.. then come up in run support and get a TFL in the backfield the next. I will never forget that game against New England when Ben Coates was tearing up the league.. He was on pace for like 120 catches.. then he ran into Woody.. The Cowboys put Woody on him all day he shut him out.. as in zero catches.. Not limited.. not slowed him down.. shut out.. Pitched a no hitter.. Certainly one of the most impressive performances I'd ever seen because it came against an all pro players who the rest of the league had no answer for. Coates averaged like 7 catches a game against the rest of the league.. but he could not even get on the statsheet against Woody! Amazing..

I actually forget just how good D. Woodson was. I he was so versatile as a player.

Darren was a solid safety with LB size and the speed and quickness of a CB. That's an extremely rare happening, when it comes to safety talent. He was also a fearless tackler and hitter, something that had opposing backfields watching him like a hawk. They fully realized what a serious weapon he was for the Dallas defense. We may never see another one quite like him with the Cowboys. He's HOF worthy, without a doubt.

Seems like a high character guy as well
