That’s great Greg. Really cool.

I’ve been lucky enough to attend Cowboys games at every venue they have made their home - Cotton Bowl, Texas Stadium and AT&T. Of the three, Texas Stadium was by far my favorite.
Awesome . I’ve been to all 3 as well. Thanks
Merry Christmas!!

I'm going to be attending the Detroit game and wondered what is at the site of the old stadium? Is there a monument or anything commemorating Texas Stadium? Just a parking lot now?

It's basically a storage area for the Texas Department of Transportation. The stadium itself was demolished in 2010. As far as I know there isn't a monument of any sort. The place where the team played before Texas Stadium, the Cotton Bowl, is still standing and still in use. The annual Texas / OU game was played there back in October.

I miss Texas Stadium... It was only 10 miles from where I grew up.

The old stadium was in the City of Irving just off Highway 114. It was torn down many years ago and unfortunately as far as I know there’s no monument.

Just like what happened a few days ago, Baltimore ran all over the Cowboys on that day. Very hard to watch.

I tried to plan a trip for the last game but everything was crazy expensive, so I went to the next to last game at Texas Stadium. It turned out to be a good move because it was the last win there. I stayed after the game until security told me to leave, just to take it all in knowing I'd never see it again.

My first game in Texas Stadium was a win over the Giants, and so was my last one. I miss that place.

I remember the first game at Texas Stadium. Before that, they played in the Cotton Bowl.

I mean, I don't remember it perfectly, I have to go back and review some facts, to be honest.

I know it was the Patriots during the 1971 season. The Cowboys won 44-21. Roger Staubach and Bob Hayes went crazy in the 2nd quarter and at halftime it was 34-7. The Cowboys really needed that win because they were lackluster early in the season while Landry continued to rotate quarterbacks Craig Morton and Roger Staubach.

The Cowboys would end up 4-3 before Landry finally decided on Staubach. They didn't lose another game that season....including Super Bowl 6.

The Cowboys didn't start the season at Texas Stadium, they had to play a few home games at the Cotton Bowl. Their first game, the one against the Patriots was game #6 that season.
I believe Duane had a nice game too…

My last game there was also against the Giants, but was during the Parcels years with Quincy as QB. It was a win, though.

What made it even sadder is the Cowboys lost. After the game they had a ceremony with a lot of former players. Fans were so disappointed after the loss most of them had already left before the ceremony started. It looked like a funeral. Very disappointing. Closed out the old stadium with a loss and opened up the new stadium with a loss.
Add to that losing to the Texans, who were playing their very first game. Losing in the game the Triplets were installed in the ROH.

All under Jerry Jones.

Thanks for nothing Jerry.

And losing the game where Emmitt broke the record though that game was very much winnable. All of them were winnable with some all time and record breaking meltdowns required to lose them.

ANY game that had any kind of sentimental value to Dallas was a loss in those days.

Didn’t we lose to the Giants opening day new stadium?

Just like the 08 team

Embarrassing....they go down and imo the worst team in cowboys history

Not records wise but just to close out legendary Texas stadium by allowing back to back 80 yard runs and then following it up with 44-6

I really hated that 08 team

I think we lost our first game in the new stadium to the Giants.
