i don't mean a thug..

someone like roy williams used to be...

darren woodson, cliff harris, randy white type player.

someone who will send a message that this **** ain't going down tonight.

i love the way we are the classiest team in the nfl and always have been.

but the time has come to find a few players that hit...and hit hard.

i know we will be flagged for 15 yards every time.....but it's time to hit some **' ers in the mouth.

who's with me?

We have one DeMarcus Ware. You don't think people are intimidated by a guy who is on pace to break the all time sack record?

ware is awesome...does not hit hard though.

what team do you watch by the way?

Love Ware as well, but he's not an intimidator. I would say the closest we have is probably Ratliff, but he's playing out of position so he doesn't get the chance to dominate like he could.

Can anyone think of anyone on our roster that has that Ray Lewis like ferocious demeanor about them?

I thought Spencer would bring that after wathing him in college, but hasn't been that way. We just don't seem to have very explosive, intense players.

we don't have one..

hence the thread..

we need a steve atwater, jack tatum, john lynch, ronnie lott type player on this damn team..

you don't have to be a thug to hit hard...

Im sorry but I disagree with you.

Ware is as beastly as it gets.

We just need to execute better on defense and we will because we have been stellar on defense all year and we have a guy who actually knows what he is doing in Ryan unlike the guy on the other side of the ball.

Worry about what Jason Garrett and Romo are doing. We can win with everything else if those 2 don't screw it up.

If he doesn't hit hard tell me how he has 12 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.

dude...ware is one of my favorite players ever...don't go there.

he is a gentle spirit though.

the hardest i've ever seen him hit was against marshall faulk back about 5 years ago when we knew we were eliminated from the playoffs.

probably the reason faulk hates us.

All sacks arn't hard hits man.. one thing does not equal the other. Forced fumbles arn't always the result of hard hits either, stripped balls are forced fumbles.

I think we're talking about a guy who will just go full speed and slam into a guy. We just don't see alot of that from this team anymore, although i don't know how much we see it at all around the league in general. With these new rules, i don't know that you're even allowed to hit a guy hard.

I don't think that he means "just" the best LB playing the game today. :)

I think he means somebody who won't let up like Ware does when he sees the QB get the pass away and he is within a step of hitting him. Ware has great body control and he lets the other QB off the hook while the opposing defense doesn't miss a chance to "follow thru" when they have the chance. And I am talking legal hits within the two step rule.

Or at least a guy who knows how to let his weight come down on the QB in a satisfying manner instead of making an attempt to spare the guy.

Know what I mean? Not a "dirty" player, but a guy with the heart and attitude of old fashioned style (in the legal sense) football player. Not intentionally trying to put the guy on IR, but not hesitant in the least to send him to the sidelines to recover his breath, so to speak.

Our guys are just way too nice. I'd happily have them over to babysit any day. Best guys in the world, wouldn't harm a fly.

I thought right away about Alan Ball's hit a couple weeks ago where he was called for a personal foul or something, but it was clearly a clean hit. That's what the league is coming to and its pretty ridiculous if you ask me. If you have offensive players even complaining about it, you'd think the league would get the memo that nobody wants to see them ruining the game by softening it up considerably. The entire reason it became so popular is because of how violent a game it is.
