right now the LBs and Secondary look awful. if there is no pressure from the DL, then they get abused. Simian, Fitzgerald, Gurley have all had career days against this defense. As much as we love Jaylon Smith, he is clearly not ready, he has not change of direction or speed to get ther3e right now. Hitchens is sorely missed. Without Lee the LBs were totally lost. Teams keep hitting the space between the secondary and LBs and all of them take bad angles and are on different pages. in reality, we shouldn't be surprised. Too many losses in one year. We lost 3 out of 4 in the secondary. added three rookies and a FA. we lost Church who was great in run support and right now we are not stopping anyone from running and have bad tackling.
this defense can't stop anyone right now. if the offense stalls for a series or two, the defense puts this team in a hole and its tough to come back. Now, teams are stacking the box and forcing Dak and Wrs to beat them. Until the offense consistently and that's the key word, consistently does that, they are not going to back off. Dez has been hot/cold. Williams disappears for stretcfhes. Butler makes one big play every other game.
