Seems to me that Jerruh is drafting a bunch of guys he won't mind cutting at the end of camp. Could you imagine drafting some one that was really good and having to cut him? That would hurt.

;)

He said it last night that they were probably going for backups and ST's players.

That's what kills me about Jerry....the days of open competition are gone!

When is the secondary going to be addressed???? What happens when Tnew goes down?

How about trading for picks next year if you don't want any of these guys. No reason to select all project players....reaching for players is never a winning strategy.

Scandrick was taken in the 5th last year. Just saying.....

We have 12 picks in rounds 3 through 7 and frankly, not too many urgent needs. What that tells me is that we can go after players with "potential" and cut as necessary. Weed them out, just like Economics 1 in college with 400 students in the lecture hall.

You can't have "open competition" with a salary cap and large guaranteed signing bonuses.

Some players are locked in unless they just give up and quit trying to play.

So what can you do?

The only spots truly up for grabs are the bottom third of the roster.

We are trying to find guys who will make our overall team better.

Or he is drafting players so he can cut the current roster fodder. :p:

:bang2: I'm thinking Jerry has become gun shy of picking known talent and it backfiring on him. He has passed on receivers the past few years that turned out to be productive in their rookie seasons for various reasons. I do believe the Roy11 trade was a good one still but this draft is confusing. They picked up a bunch of bodies... maybe in anticipation of next years uncapped season and possibly the fact that they will have a lot of cap room as all the dead money should be off the books. With all the free money the next years draft will allow them to be real players I'm thinking. Unfortunately the past few years have all been about next years draft. The boys need a real GM. Anyhow they know a lot more about what they are doing than I do but I would like to have some kind of feeling about this draft other than blah.
