If its going to be a Cowboys year and still have the fan base vote of confidence. Cowboys have to have a "W" or the train will leave the station. No ifs ands or butts....

Bad optics to throw in the towel a game out of the division lead at 3-4 just 1 season after the 3-5 team won the division and a playoff game.
Nope. it is either go or go home. Any thing else is a bandage or smoke and mirrors. Done this too long. This is the biggest "Must win" the Cowboys have had in a decade.

Every game since the Saints game has been a "must" win. They have failed to do their civic duty since then. If this game is a "must" win, then they will likely lose since Dallas doesn't like to hold up on their side of the deal and win games.

It is over as the great late Francis Dayle "Chick" Hearn ( play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Lakers) used to say:
(This game's in the refrigerator: the door is closed, the lights are out, the butter's getting hard, the eggs are cooling, and the Jell-O's jigglin'!

Worse optics are to score one Touchdown and lose to the Brees-less Saints and their 26th ranked defense followed up by losing to the win-less Jets.

Agreed, but what if 5 games from now it becomes apparent that the Brees-less Saints and the Jets with Darnold are much better teams than anyone expected?

Perhaps not likely, but better to wait until the last possible minute before deciding to push for a complete dismantling of the team's chances to make a run.

True, one game is an anomaly, but this 3 game slide is revealing to the true side of this team. The first 3 games were fools gold. We suck again!

I don't think any more than 4 total losses (a 12-4 record) will procure 1 of the 2 first round playoff byes which means Dallas can lose 1 more game and still possibly entertain hopes of a first round playoff bye. I'd say 10-6 wins the division/keeps hopes alive for a wildcard which means Dallas needs at least 7 more wins. Beating a division rival at home for one of them is almost a must, especially when one starts factoring in tiebreaker scenarios.

I can easily see us losing to Patriots,Bills,Bears,Vikings,Eagles,Lions and Rams. Stick the proverbial fork in us

This is a MUST win for the Cowboys and Garrett, if the Eagles come to town and blow out the Cowboys on their home field, then Garrett has to be fired, there will be NO justification keeping him in place, four losses in a row and the team collapsing......this is the Cowboys/Green Bay game when Wade Phillips was fired, the Cowboys are at the crossroads Sunday night on National TV....

They should tank the season after this loss.

Meaning what, exactly? Bench as many starters as possible? I can totally see that happening.

People who have bought tickets won't mind and I'm sure those players won't, either. I'd bet some of our best guys would gladly lose on purpose because securing the highest pick possible is foremost on players' minds.

So please, how does it work? I see "tank" on this board every day yet no one articulates how it would be done. Anyone can just say it.

You'll know Garrett has decided to tank when they string together 4 or 5 wins in a row. :D

If they are serious about tanking, Dak will start throwing lefty.

Too early to tank the season but its look grim, doesn't it? If they lose this one the reach their bye week 3-4 and with the Giants playing the Cardinals this week, they could be tied with the Giants for 2nd place in the division. That's sets up a big rematch with the Giants after the bye possibly for sole possession of 2nd place.

Not only are the Giants getting better as a team, they get Barkley back this week and the Cowboys aren't very good after bye weeks. In the Garrett era, the Cowboys are 4-5 after bye weeks. If the Cowboys lose to the Giants after the bye, not only won't they win the division, they won't even finish 2nd in the division.
