This game was more about the Giants than Dallas

The Dallas media showed just how out of touch they are with teams outside of Dallas. The Giants are basically the Ravens with Jaxon a mobile QB, physical back in Scattebo and they kept Likely and Richard.

The defense was already talented just needed some coordination.

Plus given they have Roman, Nagy and Brian Callahan that’s 3 former OCs/head coaches against a first time DC in Parker with his college and castoff assistants.

This was just a BAD matchup for Dallas. No film on what the Giants were gonna do and they had the experience and personnel to use it to their advantage. Dallas is built on confusing QBs and CPs strength is pass defense not run defense.

I think depending on health, the Giants are the favorites for the East this year. I’m excited to watch more of their games this year.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we finished last. It’s one game and the first few weeks of the modern NFL don’t tend to correlate strongly with who is still standing at the end of the season, but bad teams look bad no matter when you pause a season to analyze them and the same goes for bad units on teams. This defense is not going to be a good defense. Caleb Downs was utterly invisible out there. WTH? You’d expect something to stand out and I acknowledge safety isn’t exactly a “straw that stirs the drink” position but damn. The hype behind this kid…

You knew when Micah was on the field as a rookie, Jerry. Remember that Jerry?

I could’ve drawn plays finger painting and shown you the giants game plan.

Downs had the sack fumble and definitely should’ve been used to clean up the flats. But his strength isn’t stopping 230 pound RBs.

Giants absolutely were more physical, BUT the giants weren’t doing anything special and the worst defensive team was not even within 5 yards. Any other team would have made things tougher

It’s funny because a lot of good football guys on Twitter were lambasting the Cowboys tonight because of how simple the concepts were by the Giants and how they were running them over and over again and the Cowboys inability to adjust to it. All were pretty much shocked at how bad the coaching was.

This game was definitely more about the Cowboys than the Giants. Talk about a letdown. This loss could be worth 2 or 3 losses. The Cowboys HAD such high expectations on them and to go in there and to lay an egg like this is absolutely DEVASTATING. Now there's even more pressure. Better to not watch this team if you get bent out of shape after losses like I do. I think that I'll just watch highlights. Getting too old for this crap.

Giants played like a playoff team. Their D looks so f legit like really long time ago.

Burns, Reese, Carter, Thibodeaux, Edmunds, Holland, that's a really nice group.

Scattebo plays like Tazmania or a honey badger.

And yeah, they looked like a lighter, proto version of the Ravens.

No.

Dallas got exposed badly. We'll see if they can respond.

It’s week 1. We have no idea how good or bad these teams are. I didn’t see a great Giants team. They showed toughness and punched us in the mouth.

Same thing Cardinals do to us every year.

Expectations from Dallas media that didn’t think to analyze the effect of the Giants having 3 experienced OCs vs a 1st time DC and college assistants with no film. Plus the personnel is pretty much a carbon copy of the Ravens stylistically which has been a nightmare for Dallas since 2000.

When has Dallas beaten a team that was good at what that style of offense wants to do? Go back and look at the good SF teams, Ravens teams and Eagles teams. Dallas doesn’t play those teams well since Jamal Lewis was running guys over in 2000.

Like I said in July: 90% of what you see in training camp and preseason means NOTHING. Especially because Dallas won’t play their players in preseason.

Giants winning the division and the Cowboys in the cellar

The NYG have some talented young players and an elite coach, but it's a lot easier for Dart when a receiver was open, often wide open, on almost every play.
He won't have that luxury most weekends.

The Giants looked improved no doubt but this game was about how ill-prepared Dallas was. I wonder what they do during the week….

The rest of the east has problems. Philly is dysfunctional, Washington didn’t look any better today and Dallas can’t beat physical teams.

Giants are an efficient physical team. Like SF their biggest issue will be health. As we saw tonight without Scattebo or Richard on the field they’re a much different team.

Well they’re not allowed to be as physical as needed per CBA rules to get ready for this kind of game. Especially week 1. This was a terrible time to play the Giants.
