Commanders | Portis not expected for start of offseason workouts
Sun, 15 Mar 2009 12:18:05 -0700

Jason Reid, of The Washington Post, reports Washington Commanders RB Clinton Portis is not expected to take part in the start of offseason workouts. Head coach Jim Zorn said, "I fully expect him to be here participating at some point. I talked to Clinton on the phone yesterday, and he knows what it means. He's just trying to work out his schedule. He's been working out his schedule."

=========================

Come on Zorn, life's too short! :laugh2:

Portis has got things to do. He'll find some time for you, too. It's not like offseason workouts at your facility are a regular thing and are announced ahead of time . . . . Oh wait, maybe they are. :laugh2:

Porits is a certified idiot, listening to him speak makes me feel sorry for him.

With all that said, I really repect how much he has carried the Commanders and played through injuries, terrible coaching staffs, countless awful playbooks, and mediocre QB after mediocre QB.

He's still a moron though.

End of conversation.....:hammer:

Zorn clearly does not have control of his locker room. Hes like the bumbling idiot people make Wade out to be. Also, Portis doesn't respect the guy..I think the only reason Zorn still has his job is because he had such a good start last year.

Zorn is right behind him in the idiot line.

I think it's funny how Foreskin fans continually bash us for having Wade as our HC when they need to look at their own coaching situation. Just goes to show their lives revolve around all things Cowboy.

Oh, give the guy a break. Zorn is new to this. I'm more impressed with him than not....so far. I reserve the right to change my mind...rapidly. He really was a pretty good QB in his day which has nothing to do with coaching but I thought I'd throw him a bone. He was Tony Romo before Tony was born.

Portis could play for me anyday but I'd make him get some speech therapy.

what does speech have to do with ball skills? Emmitt is the greatest if all-time and I wouldnt exactly call him a cunning linguist.

Zorn is a class guy...he is definitely the greetest coach in Commanders franchise history, but I just don't think he possess the gravitas to be a head coach just yet.

Your team would be the most articulate of the bunch: 0-16.

Shouldn't he be working his schedule around workouts with the team?

What scheduling comes before his job?

At least he didn't schedule a family vacation when the workouts were supposed to begin.

If you ever talk like that about Clinton Portis again, I'll sick Troy Aikman on you!
