I have seen many posters questioning the GM, the coaches, the players, etc... after the many losses this team has had. Yes I know other teams have won games without their starter but other than New England, Dallas has been competitive in all of their games. A break here or there and the Boys could have stole a game here or there. This is probably a lost season unless the team somehow wins two in a row to get to 4-5 for Romo who would have to go 6-2 to get to 9-7. The reasons for the losses are quite simple. The franchise quarterback who makes 18 million a year for a reason has been out. Let that sink in for a second. The player the franchise believed was worth all that cap space is hurt. Imagine if Microsoft would have lost Bill Gates, that's what happened to our team. Which brings me to my next point.
If Dallas is in position to draft a franchise quarterback in the first round then they should pull the trigger even with the many needs the team has. This is the new NFL. Teams are no longer complete and no longer have great depth. But if you have a QB than you have a chance. The reason for New England's greatness is Tom Brady not Bill Billicheck. How many games did the cheater win in Cleveland? How many championships did Johnson win in Miami without Troy Aikman? Great quarterbacks can make great coaches but great coaches can only do so much. If Dallas continues to suck it up and the best player available is a quarterback then the team should pull the trigger. Romo has about 3 years left, it would be prudent to use this crap season to get a quality quarterback even if he has to sit for 3 years. College QBs are now longer playing in pro systems and this is very evident with QBs like Manziel, Kaepernick, Marriota that are going to need time to be groomed. If Dallas can get a QB that has a lot of talent but needs time, this is the time to get him. Don't try to replace Romo when he hangs it up, the new QB will be set up for failure. Getting him now in this draft would give him the needed time to learn how to properly play QB. If Romo gets hurt the new QB will definitely win more gams than Weeden or Cassel.
