We are the Dallas Cowboys for heaven's sake- we should not have to sift through the trash pile and settle for crappy option A or B. I'm not happy about this, however it turns out.:bang2: Damn you Parcells.

I'm still not completely falling into this Norv stuff until its finally official AND we know who will be taking over the defense.

Defensively is my #1 concern so we'll have to just wait and see.

Only time will tell.

This is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I was just sitting here getting frustrated reading all these posts about our HC predicament, and along comes your thread.

I totally agree.

Everyone new months ago that BP might leave. You would think there should have been a plan "B" or something.

This situation sucks.

If you think about it, we haven't really been the Dallas Cowboys for quite a while.

Think about it like that and it doesn't hurt as much. One of these days we'll turn it around and get back to the top.

I guess Parcells could have stuck around giving it 50% since his heart was no longer in it. That would suck even worse.

There are only crappy options or the unknown. No coach who has proven himself is available because teams are smart enough to lock them up. Any team looking for a coach is in the same boat. Oakland and Atlanta decided to go with unproven guys. It may work, but who knows. Dallas can do the same or stick with a less than stellar re-tread. We shall see.

the Steelers are a storied franchise...do you think they feel like they settled? They hired a 34 year old coach with ZERO head coaching experience at any level. This is the modern day NFL. The NFC has sent 9 different teams to the Super Bowl in the last 10 years. This is the modern day NFL. Sean Payton took over a team and went to the NFC championship game in his 1st year...and that was with a QB coming off of a career threatening injury. This is the modern day NFL. Old school thinking might actually impede you from hoisting the Lombardi trophy in the moden day NFL. I admit it is somewhat uncomfortable...but the modern day NFL calls for bold thinking more often than not

There was a plan "B".

It's what your're wittnessing right now.

Jerry made it clear he wanted BP back, now he has an excuse to run things his way again.

BP is gone(thankfully).

Now Jerry can say I tried to get him back, but I had no choice but to take over the reins.

I don't know why he doesn't just throw on a jogging suit and a headset and coach this team on the sideline instead of doing it from his press box.

How is this Parcells' fault?

How is it either Parcell's or Jerry's fault? It is just what is.

I don't think Dallas missed out on someone as head coach. Should they have really been clamoring for one of the guys recently hired. Or maybe they missed by letting Zimmer go.

Perhaps Jerry is waiting to get one of the guys that is coaching in this weeks Superbowl. They can't do anything about that right now since the rules prohibit that kind of thing.

I keep hearing some complain about this taking a long time, but what is the rush? Who did Dallas just miss out on because of the timing? Was some top notch coach hired when I wasn't paying attention?

Thanks, I'm already tired of the phrase "the modern day NFL" and all its cousins: parity, equity,
