This is how i would like o-line to end up

No, I don't believe he makes the team.

If he doesn't, we need a vet T all the more. I would scared to death leaving FA with Flo and McQ as our only tackles.

I'm worried McQ may need more time.

This means you probably have an inexperienced entire side of the offensive line.

Unless McQuistan, Proctor and whomever we draft (and we will probably reach for it) is perfect, we will have issues.

It is impossible to expect everything to turn out perfectly.

You can protect one weak OL. Not an entire side.

your absolutely right. Having lisetened to sham, watters and laufenberg last year they feel that proctor is ready to step in at right guard. So he may not be as much as a risk as we think.

mcquistan, he is a major risk.

And you are right that none of us can predict how these guys will play!

I am willing to run proctor out there at guard, and really hope columbo comes back but if not I am ok with mcquistan and or a draft pick there.

I dont think the team would actually do that though, there has to be experience at that right tackle I would imagine for them be comfortable.

I for one would love to see mcquistan and proctor win jobs this spring regardless, even if columbo is back and mcquistan takes adams spot.

It would be great to have a young line that matches the rest of the teams youth.

very risky though. I am willing to take that risk though.

Fabini was insurance against another disaster like the one that ended up with Torrin Tucker at LT.

Right, and if we go into the season with Flo, McQ and our new rookies, we could be looking at another disaster.

If he is so ready, why are we looking at giving big $ to Davis to play RG?

Proctor seems to be one of those players that impressed Coach Parcells on a personal level. Not from a talent perspective. All I recall is talking about how dedicated he was in the weight room. He must have been a trained pig also.

I'd gladly accept a young guard or tackle.

But not both. That is like playing russian roulette.

Now do you have anything else to justify your opinion?

Prolly the same place that you got your opinion we would sign no one.

Fabini was an insurance signing.

Because a starter didn't go down, he wasn't needed, and so in retrospect his salary seems wasted. But had Adams or Columbo gone down, the Fabini signing would have been considered shrewd.

But now people want to say he was a waste because we didn't need him.

You know, I've paid for car and home insurance for like 20 years now. Haven't needed it. I should cancel that crap.

we could be...but at the same time if they give Davis or some other stiff a huge deal and he turns into the fat, lazt unmotivated slob that many think he is, we'd be in just as bad of shape

Adams will be fine...he clesarly got better as the yr wore on last yr and will be another full offseason away from the knee injury he had in 2005...McQ might be a very good NFL player once he gets a chance...there's always potential good players in the draft, and they dont necessarily have to be high draft picks to be solid starters either

they might not be...maybe they are looking at Davis more as a RT replacement for Columbo

then again, maybe we arnt looking at Davis anymore at all because of "big $$$"...he isnt worth it

because maybe the team is not willing to take that risk and columbo may not be back.

Parcells was hesitant to run mcquistan at right tackle because he thinks he will be a good left tackle and didnt want to mess with him.

Signing davis insures that at least we have another pro tackle on the team and he would come in as the starting guard.

I am simply saying I am willing to take that risk if these guys just need opportunity to get on the field.

Yeah I don't want any part of Davis... I do think we should resign Colombo, provided he doesn't want eleventy billion dollars. I think McQ is the swing backup this season. I don't know if he's ready to start, and I don't want to be stuck without a viable 3rd T.

Parcells was always hesitant to mess with any rookie - he would try to simplify things by allowing them to get confident and comfortable at one position.

This is not a reflection at all on whether he can play RT.

no your right. I do believe however that I bet the team feels that way about mcquistan also, he maybe the left tackle of the future, starting next year so why make him play over on the right side.

I hope he beats out adams this camp.

BP was of the opinion that you take a rookie and leave him in one position; the transition from college to pro is tough enough without moving someone around a lot. That is what happened to Kosier; he NEVER spent a whole year in one position till he got here.
