That's actually a great point and one reason I loved the hire of Philips. Unlike Parcells, who drafts players to fit his system, Wade prefers to obtain good players and tailor the system to fit them. At least that's what WP has said in the past.

They might be stuck with a few guys like that but he also does something else by the time he leaves as well...the team in better shape, and closer to being a winning team, than they were before he got here.

Unless of course you seriously feel that Jerry, with Campo, going along at 5-11 for three straight seasons was better than 10-6, 6-10, 9-7 and 9-7 with a couple of playoff appearances during Bill's term.

Not to mention, outside of Davis and Hamlin, the majority of this 'big, slow, old that doesn't fit, team that just went 13-3 last year...yeah, most of them brought in by Bill.

But, totally, he's terrible at what he does.

Everyone gets guys specific to their system... what smart coach wouldn't?

What I certainly hated about Parcells was his bringing back guys that were clearly past their prime, I still have nightmares of Drew "The Statue" Bledsoe sitting in the pocket.

Parcells has not won anything in 18 years.

I am tired of hearing about his genius. There is no way any current Cowboy fan would give any of our coaches that much leeway.

All in all, Jerry is a dream come true for Cowboy fans. The guy does whatever's necessary to win, without being stupid. The mistakes he has made, he's learned from them for the most part, he is only human.

He pays his stars, cuts the dead weight. Fan friendly, keeps us America's team, the visability which Parcells' almost tried to steal, but Jerry isn't going to allow this franchise to take a back seat to popularity.
