Watching the original Nightmare on Elm Street when I was 6 years old was scary.

This? Not so much.

One two Freddy's coming for you
Three four you lock your door
Five six grab a crucifix
Seven eight you gotta stay awake
Nine ten do it all again

As big a fan as I am of the Cowboys this kind of info has got to make you think about the real price they pay to play.

Yeah I read this yesterday. I have mixed feelings about this kind of crap. Our forefathers pretty much destroyed their bodies in other ways, be it farming, construction or what have you. We're not meant to drop dead in pristine condition. Everything takes it's toll on us, in various degrees.

If it's not concussions tomorrow, it will be something else. Life goes on.

It's silly how little we know about migraines and concussions.

Theres almost a...Denial of it, a refusal to want to accept it. Like theres a social stigma associated with the idea that "Real Men" might bump their heads too much and suffer long-term mental/emotional effects as a result.

I've had a number of concussions over my life and also suffer from migraines and headaches which occur almost daily. It got me disqualified for service in the military and has been a huge burden in many areas of my life. It effects my job my happiness my sex life, everything - And modern medicine can barely quantify it let alone diagnose or treat it!

That article appealed to me on many levels. The sooner we can get over the social stigma that comes with migraines and concussions the sooner we can start to better understand it and deal with it, instead of brushing us defected individuals under the collective rug and marking us off as broken or weak.

I remember being very worried about this issue with regards to Troy Aikman. As much as I hated to see him hang 'em up, IMHO it didn't come a moment too soon.

So let me get this straight... playing football and running full speed into other people is hazardous to your health?

Shocking.
