This is not a good matchup…for the 49ers

It's alot easier said than done to just say "Yeah we are going to be physical". It's The Niners game, Not the Cowboys. An interesting stat is teams are 0-15 this season the week after playing the Niners. So even if the Cowboys find a way to win on Sunday I don't like their chances the following week. It's because the Niners just physically beat the hell out of teams that those teams need 2 weeks to recover.

I saw a replay of that Cowboys/Tampa game on NFL Network at 2 p.m. today. That version of the C-boys was an altogether different team than what we sent to play the 49ers last year. Every player on that team, with the possible exception of Maher played his tail off. Here's hoping that's the same team that shows up when we meet them in that upcoming playoff contest. If so, the 49ers should have all they can handle . . . maybe more! :)

So, this is it. We are finally knocking the door down for championship game appearance.

Not sure why we are expecting to upset them but sounds good. Hope we don’t need a kick by Mahrer. Lol

The confidence that Bucs game gave the QB, OL and offense and the entire defense could not have come at a better time in the season. That WAS game is a distant or forgotten memory and this team is as playoff ready as a Cowboys team has been in 25 years.
..thats exactly, what I thought last night. Winning that game was like injection of some type of plasmid for the whole team. All of sudden, Dallas is awake and aware.

SF might be in a world of hurt, come Sunday night.

With all of this praise the media has been heaping on them, I wonder why they'll even play the game?

The players that were on the team last meeting remember all too well how they talked before showing up and tried to intimidate them. They also remember they had the chance to win that game and the end of it was a Keystone Cops act. Coaching and players let themselves down.

I bet if you polled those coaches and players, they wouldn't have another team at the top of their list that they want to meet again more than the 49ers. This isn't just a game, it is a reckoning.

That last road playoff game the Cowboys won that McC showed the team the ten players alive at that time was more than just motivation to shut out the voices, it was a foretelling of the near future. That game would be the ghost from the past.

What happened last night changed everything. The 49ers players were watching that spanking and telling each other and themselves "that's not us, that's not our OL or DL or secondary or run game" and they are right. But, that is not the same Cowboys team they met on the field in Arlington a year ago either.

This Cowboys team is every bit as balanced as the 49ers and coming to town with a chip on their shoulder. And they'll leave the 49ers with their shoulders slumping.

Can't say what happens in the NFCCG but this divisional game against the 49ers is the Cowboys season, they are going to San Francisco to hand out a butt whooping and an overdue payback and it won't be pretty or Purdy.

This isn't just some football game, this is the Cowboys-49ers and this team is going to do what that team did in 93 when they played there.
Put me in coach,I'm ready to play..
Great post..go Cowboys!!

I love how all these Media heads have SF big but yet they have a rookie QB who's untested, they don't even mention it.
If Dak Prescott and the Defense play like they did yesterday, if we stay disciplined like that with no penalties or turnovers, we can win it.

Can the Cowboys win? Surely. Especially if they continue their play from last night.

That being said, the 49ers are a worse matchup for us than if we had to go to Philly IMO. Two biggest reasons are - they can attack a clear weakness of ours and control the flow of the game whereas they are better equipped to stop what we want to do which is run the ball.

Both the Cowboys and 49ers have Top 10 rush offenses in the regular season. But Dallas has a rush D in the 20s whereas the 49ers have a rush D that's ranked 2nd. That's a pretty big matchup in their favor.

In order to win I think Dak is going to have to make some plays in the passing game and use his legs as well. I think our run game will largely be stymied but if we can squeeze enough out of it, Dak should be able to make some plays against their secondary if he's on. Conversely, I don't know what Quinn has to do but he has to figure out ways to get Purdy in some 2nd and 3rd and longs. Make him beat you with his arm. If San Fran is finding itself in a ton of 2na dn 3rd and 3s, it's going to be tough for the D to get off the field IMO.

If San Fran is running it down our throats and we are struggling to run, it's going to be really tough to win unless Dak plays out of his mind IMO.

This isn't a good matchup for the cowboys. The cowboys struggle with team that can run the ball. Dak struggles when there is pressure. The cowboys can win but, I would give the edge to SF.

San Fran is great at forcing teams to play their style of ball -- physical on all fronts. We have some of that in us, too, but I haven't seen it consistently displayed. I certainly think the re-emergence of players like LVE and Hankins help us.

Defensively, can we tackle? SF makes a living off of breaking tackles -- not just on the breakaway, game-changing plays, but the more minute situations such as forcing a 3-yard run into a 7-yard gain.

This isn't a game we can flash or finesse our way to victory. Gonna be fun!

Diggs needs to get his mind right. Right now. If he dances away from tackles like he did last night? We will lose.

Being that the niners were 32nd in SOS.......could it be that they were just beating teams that weren't winning many games at all in the first place?
