We are a different team with Romo. Drew is gone. Thank Goodness.

We are more focused than ever.

We are hitting to the point that receivers are thinking twice.

Barber is a beast.

TO, Roy, Romo and company all cash in on revenge.

History will NOT repeat itself.

This could get ugly for the Giants and their fans.

The biggest difference between this year and last is that our starting LT is healthy. After Flozelle went down we lost. That's the biggest reason why I thing the Giants are losing. Pettigout is OUT! However, I have no more sympathy for them than anyone had for us last year....

Its even more than that. I read that article on giants.com the other day, monday I guess saying that it was the same as last year. Nothing could be further from the truth. The giants are where the cowboys were last year, beat up and in a slump with poor qb play.

If you think back to last year, and I just finished watching last years game at ny a few minutes ago so it is fresh in my mind.

Anyway, here are the reasons this is not last year, too me anyway...

here were the guys hurt and not playing against the giants last year.
LT-Flozell Adams
CB-Anthony Henry, didnt even make the trip last year.
DT-Jay Ratliff
MLB-Dat Nguen
olb-Al Singleton

now hear is what the giants are missing
strahan, arrington, pettigout and toomer and possibly madison and webster.

Lets see how they handle it coming off a loss, with important injuries and poor qb play.

A couple more things from last year. Aaron Glenn covered Burress last year almost the whole game. Jacques reeves played the other corner in the nickel. Patrick crayton and Julius Jones were not healthy. Scott Shanle started at the jack inside spot and fujita outside.

Having said all that there offense scored 10 points on us, in their place when they were healthy and we were depleted.

Now the roles are reversed. Frank webster had two penalties on the opening drive last year, one was a late hit on an incompletion to witten. Walker is going to have to play it looks this week too and he is a below average player, look for us to go after him for that reason and the penalties.

Last year our offensive line was
Tucker-Allen-Al/andre-rivera and pettiti. Now it is stable and we even have fabini coming out as an eligible tight end.

We left a bunch of plays on the field last year and the giants had a questionable call go their way late.

Again, all this and they beat us by 7 and scoring only 10 on offense.

Having rewatched last years game and knowing the momentum we have right now I am not worried we will play outstanding on defense. I think we will double burress with newman and henry playing man and watkins playing zone over the top. I think we will be aggressive at the line of the scrimmage and stuff barber.

Bradie James had his best game of the year in the meadowlands last year.

and my two final points are this about the difference.

Eli manning has still not had a good game against us, it has been barber that has beat us and I dont think he can do it alone this sunday.

And finally, Ware gave pettigout fits, so I expect him to wear out whitfield, so that means the giants will have to keep barber/shockey in to block taking away one of mannings options.

While it is a difference for Giants and was for us last year... it is by no means the BIGGEST reason....

Romo and his Veteran-like play is the biggest reason IMO

Last year when we were 7-4, we had 3 away division games staring us in the face along with the Chiefs and Rams at home. Chiefs were playing very well at the time.

This year the schedule is substantially easier, IMO. This year we have only 2 road games, and only one is a divisionaly opponent, plus Eagles and Lions at home which should be relatively easy wins.

Plus, like you said, this team is obviously much better.

Our QB situation is different. The main reason why the team is better.

That may be true, but the health of the team and the addition of better talent at linebacker, offensive line, wr have helped tremendously.

Not to mention the play of ferguson.

Although last year going into the giants game we were ranked 6th in D, this year 4 but with better and healthier personnel.

We just have the three tough away games a little earlier... we could have gotten buried then...

Theebs, I agree, I also watched last year's game this week. It's simply amazing that we were so competitive with all the injuries that we had.

Wasn't it weird seeing the Saints starting LBs(Shanle & Fujita) wearing a Cowboys uniform...

The QB is the main cog in a teams' wheel, so I have to agree, for the most part. Romo has energized this team on both sides of the ball. With him behind Center, the offense sustains longer drives & scores on most of them. This allows the defense to be fresh in the second half. It also puts the other team behind, creating a one-dimentional offense to face. That way, the defense can just turn it loose.

Which brings me to the second main reason this is not last year: The defense. The rookies of the last two years are finally comfortable in this 3-4 defense. Ayodele is a very good athlete who brings a presense. Bradie James runs this defense with total ease, now that it is finally his. With the front 7 playing so much better, the best player on defense, Roy "The Beast" Williams can play with his natural terrorist mentality. Opposing receivers are looking around a lot more, and are getting "alligator arms" when they hear his footsteps--even when they just think they do....:D

With all of the players walking with a swagger, and the schedule much less brutal than a year ago, I am confident that this aint last year's team.

I'm not trying to overstate the point. There is no NFL team that can afford to lose a LT. They cost so much that you can't stockpile depth at that position. I think that teams have an easier time getting depth for their defense than their LT.

When you lose a LT you have to start keeping in RB's and TE's to makeup for the loss of production. This triggers a one dimensional offense, and an extremely unsettled QB. Last year we had to compensate for both of our tackles, and that was ultimately our undoing.

This year, I thought that the giants still won a few games while their defensive starters were going down like flies. The minute I saw Pettigout out then I knew that their offense was DOOMED. I expect a productive game from Ware this Sunday, Manning running for his life, and a very frustrated Barber and Shockey. The Boys win going away with it. (Incidentally, I am not usually this optimistic)
