While we don't know what will happen from here on, the injury issues starting up w/ Micah were predicted by many of us here. I see it continuing. Can I call myself Nostradamus if I'm right?

I didn't skim over your question, I explained why both situations happened. Parsons couldn't ask for much more than Bosa who was better the same way Watt couldn't ask for much more than Garrett who was better. $1M more in each case gets that done. But Parsons could ask for that much more than Watt because he was better AND younger. Plus, it was an atypical free agent type situation and Green Bay was aggressive vs. other teams we don't know who wanted to bring in instant pass rush. I only know of the Panthers and the Jets being asked about deals but I'm sure there were other low level teams asked (better draft picks).

To say Parsons wouldn't have signed is what all the folks who want to ignore Jerry's incompetence to blame only Parsons have to say when in actuality the market worked how I said all the way up to that point before Jerry wanted to get frisky.

Yep. Not only that but if you get disenchanted with Parsons later you can trade him and the new team doesn't have to worry about giving him a new deal, he's cheaper (and younger) than the other top pass rushers and the other team only has to pony up draft picks. Shopping him to everyone at the right time could have yielded 3 prime picks and a player if they wanted, and to a bottom feeder team that got you higher picks. But that would involve foresight. Instead, we trade Parsons, get picks then go looking for Crosby at the same price you could have had Parsons at and wanted to pay prime draft capital for the privilege. What sense does that make? We might have been saved from ourselves if we can manage to still get after the QB this year.

Yeah this is pure speculation.

And for the record I don’t blame Micah for anything. He got his money and went to a great team. Whatever he got he was worth it. So what exactly is there to “blame” Micah for? Because he’s not here? Takes two. More speculation on your part. I know Jerry is why he’s not here. I said the reason why he’s not here is because Jerry feelings got hurt.

In just also share the opinion Micah was never playing for 35 million.

I’m amazed you guys are aware that you can’t believe anything Jerry says but will believe everything Micah says lol.

If he could’ve had Micah for 35 why did Micah sign for 48?

If getting rid of Micah meant firing Eberflus and getting Quinnen and Christian Parker I’ll say it was worth it. Especially knowing that Micah body is breaking down and he’s going to miss games two season in a row. Very lucky on our part.

Again, there was precedent. It's just how the market works. With QBs too. So I can speculate that way because the evidence had worked that way. I just explained it. As to why some financial genius agent would suddenly wildcat things and not get a highest paid contract over a guy who was better makes no sense to the precedent when that same situation happened only a year or two after.

To not think Parsons would sign according to precedent is just a convenient injection of doubt to shroud the incompetence of not even trying to get a deal done with your 3x All-Pro whose pricetag would be boxed in by a superior player before prices went higher. But we know how Jerry rolls with team finances.

It could have been more with foresight. AND we wouldn't have even had to pay him if we traded him after Year 3 in the off-season when everyone could have planned how to fit him in and competed for the draft haul to give to us. We might still have picks to burn from a trade back then. Ah well. Hope and luck it is.

Mulugheta was never having him sign for 35 million. Jerry knew that 42 million wasn’t even gonna get it done which is why he tried to do this weird handshake deal without his agent there.

He had no intentions of ever trading him. It was never gonna happen. It happened on the whim. There was no plan. So say luck because we improved our team and Micah got hurt. The football gods looked out for us here.

Sure. I just explained why, showed how it actually played out with Watt and Garrett, and still there's this "nope, didn't see it." Lol. This is what those "we definitely won the trade" people have to do in suspending belief to keep a narrative going. Don't be like them.

Because Garrett and Watts have or had no bearings on Micah.

There was no one out there like Micah. A 26 year pass rusher who arguably was the best at his position. Garrett was in his 30s as is Watt. So I get your point in bringing them up but they weren’t exact parallels to Micah. Maybe Bosa?

I don’t know about won the trade but I do think the Cowboys as of right now have more to show for the trade than Packers do.

Micah is hurt. I would’ve signed him but I can admit it probably would’ve been a mistake

At the end of the day Jerry was the only guy in the room who wanted to keep him, everyone else saw Micah for what he was/is, you don’t pay a non leader leader money.

Are we sure that’s the case?

I think Micah is a solid leader….can you win with him leading you? Hasn’t happened yet…..
 
In summary we can say Micah is an elite edge rusher that was well worth what Green Bay gave him.

But the Cowboys would not have had the DT room with Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark by keeping him. If Dallas can generate an outside rush with a combination of EZE, Gary, Miller, and M-Law then they won't miss Micah.

Dallas effectively rebuilt the defense in the wake of the Micah trade. Time will tell if they "won" the trade but right now I bet they would still be relying on Osa and Mazi inside if they paid Micah. Jerry Jones spews his share of BS but he was right about fixing the run defense. Just took a while.
 
Since you don't win super bowls w/ overpaid edge rushers and nothing, great trade.

I worked at an airport in the 80s. Collins came through after a show. He was actually really nice. We gave him "safe haven" in one of our restaurants because he needed to wait about an hour for his plane and didn't want to be inundated by fans. I so badly wanted to tell him to just shut up and play the drums. I'm not that rude though.
