I just got a call from my mom who is friends with John McClain and I have been invited to go to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and sit at McClain’s table to see Irvin get inducted.

McClain told her that Aikman and Jerry would be there as well along with several other members of the Cowboys and he will introduce us to them.

Also others going in will be Stars Mike Modano, Ray Childress, former Texas Tech football coach Spike Dykes, former North Texas State & Dallas Texans RB Abner Haynes, former Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Irvin, San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich, and former Baylor and Cleveland Browns OL Jim Ray Smith.

His job is to talk about the Texans but away from the radio and talking to him one on one he knows his football and he has a lot of interesting insight. It came as a surprise my mom called me while I was at lunch and told me that John had invited us.

Thanks. I feel like I won the lotto. I'm looking forward to it and hope to meet Ray Childress as well since he will be inducted. I know he was an Oiler and a Cowboy for a very short time but at his peak the man was a great player and reminded me so much of Bob Lilly.

As for Childress, his image has been forever tainted in my eyes after thousands of viewings of his Lawrence Marshall dealership commercials in recent years. :laugh2:
