As good as the D was in 2007-2009, it just could not get turnovers. Tremendous talent there; but it just did not work.

we still need to tighten things up some on Run D but this is IT.

Losing AB is a blow; but I think we can manage it.

The run defense was pretty good against the Colts but in general, I agree. The great thing is I don't believe it's on the decline, it should be better next season.

Fa and the CAP rules things; keeping a top unit together for more than 3 or 4 seasons is impossible anymore. So we need to take advantage of it NOW.
Hankins is probably our oldest key player; we still need to strengthen our DTs. I want another good LB as well.

I am not so much worried about bland. I think the kid has some guts. but Joseph sucks. and he is our 3rd CB now.

Move Joseph to help run defense on the RDE.....put Diggs to cover Tank's side. AB was getting targeted on man coverage and an argument could be made that Joseph will be more physical on the line and has been as close to the receiver as Brown has been.

Indeed, and i'm not expecting the second coming of Deion. I wonder whether the lack of having to prove himself with take away some of the brain dead decisions.
Over the last couple of weeks AB has been the weakness and teams scheming Hooker with slants to the right have left AB exposed. Just maybe use Joseph to his skillsets....Bland also comes into the convo. It is sad for AB, but the book was already out on him as the weak link (in man coverage).....Joseph may well not be an upgrade, but he'll give something different and teams will have to re-write the book on him.

Run D might just get better on the edges with KJ, he is a better more physical tackler than AB, hope he can at least defend the pass at the same level.

No argument from me on any of that. I think the way we drafted recently we opened up a window of two maybe three years where we can take advantage of some first-class talent (Micah, Diggs, Bland, Clarke, Odigi, Williams) but we'll eventually have to pay those guys so best make hay while the sun shines.
