Could this be the game? A game against a desperate, better than their record indicates, Carolina team, in front of a national audience? Could this be the game where the Cowboys begin to embody the team many of us thought they'd be way back at the end of training camp?
You know, that team that overnight, became better overall; better offensively for Tony Romo to navigate now that he doesn't have to force it to you know who? Not to mention, much better in the lockerroom?
We just knew that at the start of this season, our offense would be clicking and the defense would be rocking. Well friends, here we are. Sitting at 1-1 and just coming off a tough loss to a division rival. A game that we all know we should have won. But as it stands, those first two games have led us to understand very little about our team. Question marks are everywhere.
Will Tony continue his - hot one game, cold the next? Multiple turnovers in a game that eventually suck the life out of the players? Team-wide mental breakdowns? Can the defense find their pass rush again? Force a turnover? Gain confidence? Will Wade be able to shape up the defense? And how about Jason Garrett and the playbook? Lots of questions.
Let me make this rather easy for ya. Many of the questions will be answered tonight. Not all of them, but most of them. My gut says the Cowboys are ready to begin their ascend. This game will be the game where we see a sense of urgency. The Panthers just happen to be the unfortunate team on the schedule that gets to witness this change in the Dallas Cowboys.
I expect this game to be somewhat of a decisive Dallas win. Not exactly a blowout, but a game that stands out. A game that can be reflected on later in the season as the game that the Cowboys let everybody know that they were ready to take their play to the next level.
Carolina is just the first of many steps in the right direction.
