This is the player that I bet Jerry has fallen in love with... Ted Ginn

To add one more point on top of that, Jerry couldn't stop talking about a "WOW player", and there's no doubt that Ginn fits that description as far as the return game goes and also as far as bringing a deep threat onto the field the moment he crosses that white line.

point is you can get him at 22

Is that you SP ? I pegged you more of a ST: Original Series freak.

I think Jerry was obviously a little all over the place, which makes it easy for any of us to interpret one of his conflicting statements to suit our own personal hopes.

That said I definately got the feeling that Ginn could be the "WOW" player he's coveting. That would make me exstatic, I would be all for moving up a little to get this playmaker. I know this would dissapoint about half the guys here, but he is definately a "WOW" pick and he definately brings a little something extra to the table.

I think Ginn is going to be a force from day one in the NFL, and I sure hope Jerry see's things my way. Just the fact that he would be one of the most exciting players in the league to watch would make Sundays sweet IMO.

Ginn is very high risk/high reward.

On one hand he might turn out to be another Dante Hall or Devin Hester on Special Teams. Then again, maybe he'll become another Skylar Green. He is also very risky in that he may never develop into an elite WR. There is also the issue of his frame, which could very well lead to multiple injuries during his career.

So my mind is telling me we need to pass on Ginn. The potential negatives appear to outweigh the positives. But my heart remembers the clips/highlights posted on youtube and those potential negatives just don't seem as bad anymore.

Either way ( if we pick him or not ) I'll be okay with the decision. As long as we don't have to move up to get him that is.

I think people spend to much time worrying about all these possible negative outcomes for players. Why would Skyler Green have anything to do with Tedd Ginn, or the price of tea in China for that matter.

All players drafted have risk, every type of player has busted. Over analization has caused more teams to miss out on great players.

Take Ginn for what he is now, not on conjecture as to what he will or wont become.

He is an amazing football player, he is a ligtning fast speed receiver with big play ability. He is very versitile, he has great moves and has huge hands, and can catch the football. He has good height, and has been very durable as a football player, other than the freak accident caused by teamates in the BCS game.

What will he ultimately be in the NFL?, who knows, but until he proves otherwise, I don't see any reason he won't be every bit the player that he already is, which is a weapon that any team should love to have, and hate to defend.

Yes. I'm more of a Teddy Bear freak, actually. The Lieutenant's uniform was just something I grabbed at the Goodwill.

I bet he thinks this guy should go in the top 10 and when he sees him at 10 he is going to pull the trigger...You guys are all looking at this the wrong way. None of you are looking at this the way Jerry does. You are hoping for something that is not possible. That Jerry Jones knows football. He doesnt.

19. Tennessee Titans - Ted Ginn Jr., WR, Ohio State
This is that pick that gets up to the podium in about 2.2 seconds. The Commissioner might not even be done reading the Bengals' selection when the Titans fly up to the podium and hand in their card. Ginn fits a big need for a kick returner and gives Vince Young a playmaker to go to now that Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade have taken their high-flying, thrill-a-minute skills elsewhere.

I have two things to say:

1. Jerra's eye for talent has improved. A lot.
2. jerra could do a lot, lot worse than Ginn.

:D

Players like him don't last long in this league. That's the bottom line. Who would you rather have. A player like Meachem who can play for 10-12 years at a high level or someone who gives you 7 highlight reels a year and maybe lives thru his contract. He won't make it as a WR. He's too small. You can't send him over the middle. He's a limited player with a limited role. Just think of the number of plays this guy can give you. Just say no.

I should pile on the original poster just for fun. I think it would be nice to know what it feels like to pile on someone instead of being piled on for suggesting we might move up and grab Peterson. :laugh2:

this whole thread proves my point...now everyone is talking about GINN...the same guy I said jerry would reach for that he could get at 22!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how funny is this whole thing! You guys all think like Jerry I think.

I see nothing here but speculative conjecture.
Guys like this?
Meachum will play for 10-12 years at a high level? Why because you say so?, Nobody knows this.
He wont make it as a wr? Nothing more than your opinion.
Only time will tell, but this is exactly the type of B.S. speculation I was reffering to.

Would't mind him either.:D

But not at 22.

I wish he could fall to us in the second round if we don't take a WR in the first, but I'm sure it isn't going to happen.

I've seen a few mocks that say the Colts could take him in the First.

That would be a great place for him...He'd replace Stokley and wouldn't have to be a star right away because of obviously Harrison and Wayne.

Doubt very seriously that he would be there for the Cowboys in the 2nd but that would be a great pick though.:D
