This is why you take a QB at 4.........

I'll take the potential franchise QB to replace a QB in Romo who could be out of football in 3 years over a starter elsewhere on this team. A franchise QB is the hardest thing to find in football. If I have a rare chance at a Top 5 pick and my scouts tell me either Goff or Lynch has franchise potential, I take one of them without even blinking.

I can find a DE or a CB or a LB in free agency. You can't find a franchise QB there.

Saints did

My fear is we don't take one and Goff and Wentz become rookie of the year candidates or worse franchise QB's!!!

Meanwhile Myles Jack is out for the season with an ACL here! :(

We draft a running back in first 3 rounds you don't have to worry about a QB winning rookie of the year. Plus the reason why so many guys are against drafting a QB this class cause none are ready to step in day 1 as a starter

Well then we can hear Jerry talk about his regrets...sort of like what happened with Randy Moss.

I agree with what your saying, however we do not need a qb to start day one. We need a good prospect who could eventually start to come in and sit and learn. The Hell with getting a guy like rg3 who doesn't fit our system. Goff or Wentz could sit for a few years and be in a great situation to start when romo's ship has sailed.

The reason NOT is how much $ we are allotting to the QB position..... By taking @#4 we are basically giving away a starter position $ elsewhere

Back up QB or starter elsewhere?

You're right, let's throw another 1st round pick at the CB position, to team up with the other top 6 pick we took a few years ago, and the one we took last year. They can play along with the$50 dollar man we are still paying back there. Who needs a QB when you got Kellen Moore. Devin Street, TWill and Butler a perfectly fine at WR. But hey, let's corner the market on expensive Corners!

Oh I know they aren't taking a QB at 4.

I'm not so convinced. Jerry wanted a QB last year, and I suspect if the right QB was there they would take a QB
I don't think that guy will be there but you never know. What I don't want to do is take a QB not worth even messing with with a 3rd or 4th rnd pick and realistically waste the pick

I feel you could get that impact player at 4 who is more talented then Wentz or Goff then draft a developmental guy like Lynch in a small trade up into bottom first. I'm not a scout but all these QBs need development and Lynch seems to have much more upside

So one example and you feel like you made your point? Name me another case, I'll wait! Even the group that doesn't want a QB at #4 know that you can't get a franchise QB in free agency....

You said you can't find a franchise QB in free agency, I gave you an example now you want more. .......haha

You responded to @Sydla that the Saints did it and I was saying that you can't base your argument on one instance. I can't believe you think because it was done once in how many years it can be done again no problem
